      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. [0.2.4] TFC2 Prerelease

Tnx Bioxx you the man, sadly i cant test drive it atm since i have family from spain over for a week, but ill test drive the crap out of it after next weekend for sure The pams harvestcraft is an intresting spin on things, i always found it fit in quite well because of its RL accuracy in terms of crops themself. but never got around making it actually work with TFC 1.
  2. Release Date? Soon?

First off thanks for all the time you have put in TFC in general, i have had many hours of enjoyment from this mod, and thanks for the update on this i have been looking forward to the new version or news about it. Personally i dont mind a release with a lot of missing stuff, especially if it could potentially help you get extra motivation to work on it,
  3. I am missing reasons to build a shelter

Bleh been disconnected from the internets again for a long period of time, needed to sort out more RL crap as well, so sadly i missed out on this nice discussion. Personally i dont quite share the issue of not having a reason to build a shelter, aside from the first few months untill i get my stuff together. The one thing i am concernt about is that some idea's might make simple things, like a chimeny, overly complex to build or simply to large to maintain proper heath vallues indoors (or around your firepit for that matter). But as long as im not forced to build a 9x9 box (pun intended ) im quite fine with anny added challenges to gain some more intresting features in the game in general. As for the coding of a roomhouse check, im still kinda hoping Mojang will work some more on the mod APIgame engine to improve the current situationlimitations, although im afraid if they do its going to take a few more versions before they get to it. I am not a big fan of Java engines for gaming purposed in general, but i still firmly believe that MC should be more capablestable in terms of certain mods (functions) then it currently is (not only because of modders feedback, but mainly true experience witch is also part of the reason im not a big fan of Java Engines for games). Sadly enough im behind quite a bit now, no wiki (internet acess) means i wasnt able to fully enjoy the 1.7 version yet (although i did manage to get a download some where in between) since so much has changed. Yet i can not wait to get back at it and see where al this is going to end up in terms of added gameplay for future builds
  4. [Solved] SSP Server D/C On Chisel Detailing

Hmm i'm not sure if the Forge we are using is compatible with Java 8 tbh, id suggest using Java 7 just in case. Best to just remove all Java stuff, and reinstall a fresh Java 7, installing and reinstalling different versions dint work to well for me in the past on Win7.
  5. Why does sluicing work that way?

Ah that explains it tnx. PS: stole your quotetextpost for my signature, i could not resist it, it was just to damn nice ><
  6. Why does sluicing work that way?

Gravel is rather easy to get tbh, i dont see this being equall to mining copper at all. Chunk limits are there for people like me, that spend way to much time (and have way to much time) trying to find ways around things to get freebies. Depending on how the code is writen, the gravel doesnt really need to store the info, much like sand as long as it stores the stone type it came from the sluice code itself could be the one telling the sluice to yield ore X while gravel type Y is used. Anyways iff been away for to long, just started on build 79 yesterady, i thought sluices were removed/disabled in build 78.4 in order to be fully rewriten. To many notes to read to catch up on all minor changes for me atm.
  7. My first night QUESTIONS

I spend most my time in the first few days roaming for seeds, bushes and other key starting resources. I used to use the thatch to make small camps along the way, but since there no longer solid i have been jump stacking with pumpkins and abusing zombie pathfinding in water body's. Anything else usually takes up to much time/inventory space when your roaming that early game (in my opinion anyways), even more so if you want to focus on getting good jars and other ceramics asap.
  8. Spawn chunks

Block lag is going to be cause by a large amount of scructuresplayers on a server, or (in case your running it on a local machine) a short comming in server resources aka the server cant keep up with the clients in terms of network traffic or processing speed (specially if your running the server and a client on the same machine). A couple of empty chunks being loaded around the spawn point are going to have 0 impact on it, unless there is a person idle there the whole time witch will cause chunks between the players to be loaded aswell.
  9. TFC FORUM VIRUS? CHROME SAYS ITS MALWARE...

Not only the forum, same goes for the wiki, looking at the message its not your browser but some kinda google service that found some sofware that is being installed silently (proll some banner orso) and thus has flagged the adress as being infected. I clicked true it but i think it said something like 3/4 pages they tested out of the 90 (for the wiki dint bother to read it for the forum).
  10. Change the perfomance

As notch his most famous word where at a gaming convention a long long time ago: "If we had known Minecraft would have became this popular, we not have made the choice to use JAVA as the gamecore" (or something along those lines). Even Mojang is having a hard time updating the render core as is, not to mention there limiting there own game development atm due to having a JAVA core instead of for example a C++ game core. Java i known for its limitations on certain platforms and areas, and mods like TFC take the game to a whole new level, cause a metric ton of miror issues that were avoided in minecraft itself (for example the sea level and chunk loading and thus rendered/loaded amount of blocks in general). Until 1.8 hits TFC, although i doubt it will help that much, your going to have to live with a certain amount of jerkyness id say, but looking at your screenshots your a lot better of them me with my 40/50 FPS The arguments Kitty gave will help, unless your going to fast travel in creative or have a boat race. PS: swapping from Optifine HD U (Ultra) to normal also helps a bit on FPS stabilitie, as Optifine Ultra is not optimized for use with mods.
  11. Optifine

Wierd issues as in crashes when its trying to render stones and small ores in the world, generation crashes because it seems to hate those lava and hot spring pockets etc etc. And that JVM argument isnt needed at all, i have been using Optifine since a long time and i never needed it not even when you had to install mods manually (or with the old magic launcher).
  12. I need a seed with lots of food

Sorry for the late reply, i dont visit this section that often, but on the subject where everyone keeps getting this stuff .... That is just one of the many replys made in a couple of threads regarding seeds, and im sure its mentioned in other places aswell. If im not mistaken fruit trees are not random, not sure if that is intended, but for the rest it should all be random upto a certain extend (it all depends on the criteria the bush/plant/animal etc has to be allowed to spawn).
  13. Im unsure how crop growth works in the wild, but i had a few ocasions my self finding good crops early in the year after having played the first year and thus winter having passed atleast once. So if you got jute from it and not just seeds, then yes you can consider yourself lucky i think. If the location had the proper conditions then jutes will most likely be there each year with in that 8x8 chunk grid (i think thats about 128 blocks in each direction unless i fail to understand the term chunk grid).
  14. Help? I cant connect to my server!

Make a folder for your server. (For example: C:TFC_Server) Download the Forge Installer, and install it running the "install server" option to this folder that was created in step 1. Create a folder inside the server folder named "mods". (For example: C:TFC_Servermods) Download TFC, and copy the downloaded files into the mods folder you just made. Create a .bat file in the server folder named "Start(.bat)". Edit the Start.bat files and add java -Xms1G -Xmx2G -jar minecraftforge-universal-1.6.4-9.11.1.965-v164-pregradle.jar to it as the only line and save before exiting it. Start up the Start.bat file, wait for the server load (there will be a GUI like vanilla, you can disable this with the proper command line options in Start.bat). Load your client with TFC. and add a server using the adress "localhost" or "127.0.0.1" (both are the same). Connect and play.#disclaimer# All above steps and files can be found at link, this is just a sumary of those steps in more user friendly form. Works like a charm for me, make sure you have "minecraftforge-universal-1.6.4-9.11.1.965-v164-pregradle.jar" set in the start.bat and not "minecraft_server.1.6.4.jar". And only start it using the Start.bat file not by clicking any .jar files. Took me around 5min exluding downloads to set it up and run the server, i tested running the "minecraft_server.1.6.4.jar" witch resulted in a vanilla load so im quessing your using that .jar file to launch your server atm. Goodluck
  15. Source Late spring is a bit soon to try and find plants in a matured state, you best of to wait for that until late summer or early autum.
