      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Server problems as always

Well just to make clarify, you DO NOT delete the meta-INF folder for the server. And is that was not your issue, please list your exact steps in setting up the jar. Should be something like 1 Forge, 2 Player API and then TFC in the mods folder.
  2. Odd Forging Bug?

Yah, my brother and I had the same problem when I updated my server a few days ago. Couldn't see any heat lvls, I tested in SP and could see them ( I think, don't remember), but got back on server and it was working again, and then later worked for my brother. So not really sure what went on there .
  3. No Metals Generating from Surface Rocks?

Also you might want to make sure that you're in an area that even has the starter metals. (Okay I guess there are no rocks without starter metals, so it also comes down to luck.) Metals are found within certain rock types, so you just need to be conscious of that. ore composition: http://wiki.terrafirmacraft.com/Ores Bismuthinite Bismuth Granite and sedimentary layers (Chalk, Chert, Claystone, Conglomerate, Dolomite, Limestone, Mudstone, Rock Salt, Shale, Siltstone) Cassiterite Tin Andesite, Basalt, Diorite, Gabbro, Granite and Rhyolite Native Copper Copper Andesite, Basalt, Diorite, Gabbro, Granite, Rhyolite and Sandstone Sphalerite Zinc Gneiss, Marble, Phyllite, Quartzite, Schist and Slate
  4. Game Crashes after a few seconds

For server: Jar- Forge Universal Player API Server DO NOT DELETE META-INF (you only delete it for SP) Mods Folder: TFC Universal Core That's all that's required to get the server configured for TFC, anything else are just issues or further customization. If you're trying to play with your friends over the internet, you'll also need to configure port forwarding (25565-for me, then your computers IP) on your firewall (steps depend on manufacture/software version), and possibly open up the port on your firewall. Your friends would then need to type in your 'external IP address' and 'semicolon' ( and 'port number'. e.g 4.2.2.1:25565 and that's the jist of it, glad you got TFC working and if your still having issues with the server, just let us know.
  5. smelting in firepit..

Yah, Wolf's way is definitely the preferred method. If not for other people having brought it up previously I would not even be aware of the fact that some of the metals can evaporate. So try and be quick and as Sushiy said try playing around with different woods and temperatures. Not sure which way to go for that though, I tend to either use Hickory (High Temp) or willows (low), and have never have any issues.
  6. Ideas and discussion about FISHING!

Well not sure about the actual fishing methods, But just to put it out there, I'm pretty sure that fish will 'soon' be actual entities (e.g. pigs, cows, squids) so you'll be able to see and interact with them (possibly with effects to their population). Frogs (poison dart) or plants such would be my first thought.
  7. smelting in firepit..

If you're having problems with your metal evaporating in the molds, just take out the molds before they evaporate, and meld down your molds into each other. As long as you melt down more then one nugget into a mold, this should help you work towards filling up an entire mold. If it's melting before you even get two nuggets melted down, well, don't know what to say, move to warmer/colder area? (also could just 'cheat' and repair the molds together).
  8. Finding clay problem!

Well, if you're still having issues locating any, could always try and post your seed. Someone with some time and luck on their side might be able to locate some in your world. Other then that, just keep on looking and you could try to check to see if the grass has just grown over deposits along the riversides. But regardless, good luck in your hunt.
  9. TFCraft download for minecraft 1.2.5

Well, I've never used NEI and codechickencore with TFC, so no clue about the compatibility there, but regarding TFC for 1.2.5, it was still a JAR mod. So you'll have to install it into the JAR and not into the Mod folder. Hopefully this'll be the last of your problems . As for the Modloader, Forge has included it for quite a while now (#109), so you really shouldn't need it. http://www.minecraft...opic,324.0.html
  10. Natural disasters

Well as for a natural disaster, here's a tornado from within Tropicraft (maybe taken from another), which just looks cool. Though Dunk did say this
  11. alternative install ?

Actually we have discovered a place where you can get it from Mojang. http://assets.minecraft.net/ has quite a few of their recent downloads (from their snapshots and such, and going back to 1.8 I think), but they do have a link to 1.2.5. You can either add it's name to the end of the web address or http://assets.minecr...5/minecraft.jar
  12. Seeds?

Nope you are not failing (as far as I'm aware). The thing is, you cannot plant pumpkin/watermelon seeds in TFC soil, that's just how it is for now. Maybe later once the agriculture build gets release, but as it currently stands if you want pumpkins you need to go out and poke around.
  13. Having problems at setting up a server. please help

Great to hear. I've updated everyplace I knew of with that issue. So if anyone knows of any place I missed, please let them know. Not sure if that was the admin (Vazkii), but he's also release a hot-fix for this issue, though we'll probably have to wait for the next release (as long as there's no issues), to see it in effect.
  14. alternative install ?

Apparently MultiMC works, though I've yet to use it (I've just heard it mentioned here numerous times). And kotoroshinoto has been mentioning making his own, found here: http://sourceforge.n...inecraftmodman/
  15. Having problems at setting up a server. please help

Well, maybe some good news. Anon 1362 http://www.terrafirm...view.php?id=580 said: --- "If you open the minecraft_server.jar and delete mod_UpdateManager.class, your server won't use the UpdateManager, and it won't cause your server to implode. mod_UpdateManager.class can be found in the root of minecraft_server.jar." --- So, that might just solve your issue (hopefully).
  16. Game breaking lag at certain times

Yup, since the anvil world (the update that extended the height to 256), it has never utilized the additional height to generate terrain.
  17. Having problems at setting up a server. please help

Well not too surprised the firewall didn't resolve it, though certainly would have been nice (BTW no a/v? kinda scary, but moving on). Not quite sure what you fully mean by it 'preparing the spawn', but if you just mean working properly and generating the world, then yes I'd image that this is the would be the only problem stopping it from working correct, as everything else you've stated seems to point to the correct configurations for a server (1.4 API threw me off, but I guess it had gotten updated (I'm still using 1.3 apparently)) After it initializing the mod manager this would be what would come next (completly pointless, just FYI (also with smartmove - ignore)) [iNFO] -agentlib:jdwp = -1 [FINER] Initializing mod_MinecraftForge [FINER] Initializing mod_SmartMoving [iNFO] Smart Moving allows client configurations [iNFO] Smart Moving uses communication protocol 2.0 [FINER] Initializing mod_TFC_Core [FINE] Mod initialization complete [FINE] Beginning mod post-initialization [FINER] Post-initializing mod_UpdateManager [iNFO] ####################################################### [iNFO] [Mod Update Manager] Dumping mod list. 18. Having problems at setting up a server. please help

I've seen this issue a few times recently: http://www.terrafirm...view.php?id=582 http://www.terrafirm...view.php?id=580 As new installs have not seemed to resolve this issue and it seems to revolve around the update manager, I'd be curious if disabling your firewall or A/V would have any affect. Also found some mention of a similar issue from the authors forum, but nothing I recognized as being helpful: http://www.minecraft...2/page__st__160 Though, on the last page it seem that darth irule posted his issue log from TFC and the author replied back asking from more info.
  19. Install not Working

Nope they only had the one each. TFC client - > Net Server TFC Server - > Net Client But you don't need to worry about that, it's as it should be (at least its working like that) Just make sure you overwrite the files in that order (installation order) and let us know if that resolves your issues.
  20. Install not Working

Hmm... ok, that's odd. I thought it was wrong when I checked it, but yes, the TFC client has the server net file and the server has the client net file. So, uhm... don't worry about that, that's how they appear on my working copy too. -- Also meant to append this to my previous post, O well.
  21. Install not Working

Yes, all of the files your are putting into the jar are meant to overwrite vanilla MC's (also why install order matters). So If you let them overwrite each other, do you still have this issue?
  22. Install not Working

Can't put up our versions, as that violates MCs Terms of Use, but if needed you can download 1.2.5 from here (Though might be the pre-release): http://assets.minecr...5/minecraft.jar In order to assist you as much as possible, could you list the versions numbers and the order in which you installed them into the jar. Just FYI the versions and install order should be: forge 3.3.8.152 Player API client 1.5 TFC Core Resorces
  23. Game breaking lag at certain times

Also one thing to note (which might explain why it seems to take so long to load) is the TFC actually building within most of the 256 layers, where vanilla Minecraft still only builds within the first 128 layers. So in TFC, there can be twice as much to load as there was in vanilla MC.
  24. Installation with multimc and nostalgia

Good to hear (and yes it is ) . As long as you got it working, and are enjoying it, that should be all the matters. Though I hope trying to get it to work didn't stress you out too much.
  25. Animal mating

Sweet, you rock Dunk. No visual representation or metadata for pregnant animals anytime soon? or still just going with this |/ for the time being. Though all things considered, as long as it works, I guess it's probably not that high on the to-do-list.
