      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord ( is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

    As a fellow ADHD sufferer, you have my condolences. it just sucks. The only time I could sit still and focus as a kid was playing pokemon yellow or reading. But ritalin was the worst. Made me groggy, unfocused, disinterested in everything, and actually made me physically ill. After years of couselling and self-moderation, I have it mostly under control, but if I sit still for long periods of time without something to focus on, to capture my thoughts, I get jittery and start thinking about doing "something" just for the sake of doing something. Lead to alot of trouble in the way back, but I now have a series of mental checkpoints I go through to stop meself from making an ass out of myself. In short, Dunk, I feel your pain. ADHD sucks hardcore.

    The tele option is a good compromise, I think. With the Baton taking multipule hits to KO a criminal, I don't think anyone want to spend time dragging the criminal to jail. Plus think about the criminal. Kinda sucks that you can't do anything while being dragged. In my opinion, that's even more of a dick move than the criminal act.

    I like that, but one problem I see is there might be too few people to keep it going from the list. If there was a death-ban, would it be possible to remove it at a later date? I could see people, upon dying, being added to the bottom of the list ( new interested people would be placed ahead of those who already played) that way the map would be kept alive longer and the players would get a chance to see how the world evolved in their absence.

    Also, pertinant question... I assume mods, other than terra, will be allowed on server? Rei's and Smart Moving? 'Nother one... A friend of mine is on a server( killer bee's IR server, to be exact)and they use teamspeak. It seems to work a lot better for them than mumble. A voice chat room thing would also help keep chat logs fairly spam free by having different chat rooms. I don't know if a chat room thing has been suggested yet, but what does everyone think?

    That seems a fair idea, I like it. It makes sense with my "It take a while for the fire to 'warm up' idea" that I seem to be stuck with... Geez, i'm a stubborn fellow...

    I've set up camp near a lake that spawns 4 - 5 squids a day. Hell, i've had three spawn in my sluice farm!!! If you want squids to spawn, just do something else and wait. Or raise the depth of a body of water to about 5-6 blocks below water level. They spawn like crazy in water like that.

    Just an idea, throwing out a number too, so here goes. Each player character gets, let's say 3 or 4, before they have a true death. These would be lives spent respawning after they were killed in pvp wars and duels, as Jed described in the first post. The character would be "too wounded" for anyone to save. Once the character is truly dead, they would be allowed to take, let's say, half a hot bar worth of items from their house, tools, various bits of metal, and the rest would be given to the town to do as they see fit. Sound good? Any other ideas or criticism would be welcome

    But I still don't like the idea of starting over, though I'm sure players would hide a stash somewhere in the world so that they don't have to start from the stone age when they truely die

    True, true... A forest shouldn't ignite as easily as a wooden house should. But it shouldn"t be a "blink and you miss it" kinda thing, you know?

    I agree that fire needs to spread faster, but to instantly start something on fire? That seems a little exsessive. Fire spread should be quick, but it should also not be too fast, to take into account the "living wood" and other things. Remember that, yes, fire does spread quickly, but needs to "warm up", if you will, to SERIOUSLY start a blaze. E.G. Campfires - you start it and you have a fire going. When you put a new log in, it doesn't start immediatly, does it? it needs to "warm up" to the fire before it is completely engulfed. EDIT: Real Life, campfires, BTW, not TFC campfires

    Yeah, that's my problem too. It seems that lvl, while a focus of The server, is being discouraged by a lack of balancing. Hence my idea of "scaling". Another idea could be each character has a certain amount of respawns as that character before his "body can't be healed" and needs to create a new character

    I have no problem with you losing your inventory when you die. That's not my problem. My problem lies in that fact that it seems that the permadeath wipes all your achievements, and starts you at the stone age again. I'd like some sort of system that would give you some, not all, of your items from your stash of items at home, so you don't have to go around collecting everything again.

    I agree it shouldn't be ALL of a person's worldly possessions, but it shouldn't also be nothing.

    When I heard the baton idea, I thought it would be something akin to a wooden club, maybe dealing a little less damage than a sword. If it's just a one hit freeze, that's just too overpowered. Then due to it being a "non lethal" weapon, the criminal would be unconscious. Basically, I agree. It shouldn't be an "insta-freeze" thing. It should take several people, maybe the "town guards" , to hunt down and subdue a criminal.

    "Good news, everyone! You just read this in my voice!" Back on the subject of permadieing, to me it's unfair to start from scratch after all the hard work you went through with your previous character. I think we should allow them to fill their hot bar with whatever they want from their previous character, then the rest of thier stuff would be distributed as the town leader sees fit. Again, I point you to classic table tops. New characters are scaled to fit in with the party.
