      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  6. [TFC B72] MAtmos Configurations

No need, you didnt offend. Whatever works for whoever is what they should be doing, I just offer this as one solution. To clarify more though,...from what I understand of Matmos, the sounds are generated based on a few different factors: events happening like day, night, swimming, riding in a minecart, etc...location, such as elevation and in site of the sky, etc..and amount of block ID's in the surrounding area'sFor example, with the block ID's, To create the ocean/beach sound, Matmos will scan the surrounding blocks and if there is the correct amount of sand and water it will play the correct sound. Till recently, sand and water was still vanilla, but TFC has new sand so this Matmos file will have to scan for this new block rather then the now missing Vanilla sand block (I actually dont think I updated this file for the new sand! ). This works for all the different biome types, with forests it will check if there are leaves near by and play forest sounds, however I believe the leaves use the same vanilla ID, just with additional damage values, so I dont think I needed to change this. So there is no specific 'play this in this biome' sound check, its more of a play this if these blocks are near you. Many of the TFC blocks just add on additional damage values and have the same ID, so they may still work. But new blocks needed to be added. There is a check to see if you are in a built structure, so it wont play nature sounds. To do this it checks all the 'built blocks' and there were many i had to add in (all the rock types) to keep it working right. Regarding the wind, the vanilla matmos played a light wind sound at elevation 72 i believe, and a high wind at elevation 96 or so. These are both below sea level in TFC, so I raised this number so the wind plays at higher elevations. Same works for the deep underground sounds. Hope this explains some of it. I dont have the designer on this PC to really give good examples.
  7. [TFC B72] MAtmos Configurations

Glad its working out for you then! (Though I still don't know how )
  8. [TFC B72] MAtmos Configurations

The action sounds from that link should work, but the biome specific sounds wont because they're using vanilla grass/dirt/stone, my file uses all the TFC item ID's. So using the above link alone wont work unless you are able to combine that with mine.
  9. [TFC B72] MAtmos Configurations

vladp995, Did you follow step 4? Reduce the volume of the original file to 0? The wind you're hearing is the high elevation sound effect, this only plays at a certain height, high up in the mountains for vanilla, but sea level for TFC. I changed this value in my file, but unless you disable the original file you'll be hearing both.
  10. Updated to build 66, sorry for the long delay, was on vacation then had a lot of catching up to do with work, and with this.
  11. I've looked at ways to do it at 64x and I will at some point. Right now I might finish up the rest of 128x, then converting that to 64 might be easier then trying to do them both at once. I did just take all the images and shrink them down by half, and it didnt look half bad. I may do that as a temporary thing if it all looks good. Either way, I will do it, and possibly a 32x if its possible.
  12. It would, the ingots and double ingots moved locations in the png,...i readded in the pre-52e download for you.
  13. Just updated yesterday for 52e I just updated the link rather then keep the old pre 52 one,..i dont imagine that needed anymore, but I guess i could add it back if people dont like to update?
  14. Hey thanks. My server is still on 50c, so I havn't seen the png changes. I'm still trying to work on items currently in the game rather then worrying about new TFC items (like item racks) but I don't want missing textures either, I'll get on this later today (I hope).
  15. If you're still checking this post, I wonder if you have any new opinions with the recent changes ?
  16. [TFC B72] MAtmos Configurations

I used the Matmos designer program, worked pretty well. (I actually did this some time ago for TFC editing the XML mostly and double checking/editing in the designer program, this time around I did it all in the designer program and used my own file as reference, so it's much cleaner)
  17. Thanks everyone! Due to the lego comment sparking my friends and my own impression of the texture pack to now always look like lego (thanks a bunch btw) I've been changing some things around. Most of theses changes are getting rid of many of the pokey dots on many textures. When i started with this, I did the dirt first where the pokeyness looked ok. And then for some reason I got that stuck in my head to do things that way. I've since made the wood planks/stone bricks/etc to have more larger bolder bumped out seconds that look a lot better imho. This is the method I'll be using from here on out and also will update some more textures like this as I see them. Many will stay the same though, like leaves and dirt. I'll be updating almost daily with small updates here and there, I'll post if I do a major update so keep an eye out!
  18. Wiki Discussion and Proposed Changes Thread

Unsure if this is still an active post but.... I've added in leaf/bark/fruit images on the fruit tree page. I've added in the growth phases of all the new crops. I've also added in individual pages for all the new crops. Nothing much on these pages yet but I have the seed/bread recipes, and images of the phases and a mature plant.
  19. Wiki Discussion and Proposed Changes Thread

Question: On the main page, there are 2 notable columns, Gameplay and Useful Page. I think Useful Pages is good, it has many popular pages for quick access. But Gameplay seems to be a jumble of many different types of pages... It seems there are two distinct types of pages under Gameplay: GuidesNew MechanicsGuides could include; no nonsense, a stone-age guide; spotter's guide; video-tutorials and let's plays; getting startedNew Mechanics could include; agriculture; knapping; forge; bloomery. These 4 mechanics require a many different steps to accomplish other then just crafting an item, it would make sense for them to be in a section together 2 pages not included here are the plans page, which i think would be better off in the useful pages section, and the construction page, which i dont see as being very useful, most of that info is within the respected tool used in construction, but if ya'll think it's a mechanic it can go there as well. Anyways, I just thought to maybe split up the first column into 1 column with 2 rows, one with Guides as a heading the other with New Mechanics as a heading. It's just rearranging the items, so nothing huge, but since it's on the main page, i wanted to look for opinions here.
  20. Wiki Discussion and Proposed Changes Thread

It's not even been 24hours! And most of us are waiting to update till small bugs are sorted. I'll look at some of these things as well and see what I can update.
  21. The TFC Wiki and Minerals/Ores

If you were a geologist you would study in school or whatever and learn about rock and ore formations. I see the wiki as being the TFC version of school, a place to learn about how the TFC world works. Knowing what type of rock may hold a type of ore doesn't give you an exact location of said ore, you still need to pro pick and search the area. For example, I found a gabbro biome, and I know from the wiki nickel spawns there. I have 3+ full double chests of gabbro cobblestone and gone through many picks digging and propicking to find nickel, none yet. I don't think it's making it easier for me, but it's nice to know I'm looking in the right spot regardless. I hope this topic gets back on topic of the OP.
  22. Wiki Discussion and Proposed Changes Thread

Personally I think the 'getting started' guide should be removed completely (sorry to who was updating it). The information on that page was sooooooooooo outdated I figured it would be easier just to do a whole re-write. As of this time, I think the stone-age guide is much more complete and up to date. I had suggested to flamestrider that having 2 pages of the same thing was confusing and the old one should be removed, but only a day or two after it started getting updated. I guess DeathbyTac0 is the one updating it? I'd suggest getting his opinion on this...
