ATTENTION Forum Database Breach 03/04/2019
There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again. -

This seed is great for starting out thanks to the amount of crops in the area, as well as the number of animals spawning in this region. Marble all around, though there is some diorite in the distance. Large trees for starting out with a great amount of wood.Malachite can be found exposed in a wall, with many loose malachite stones on the surface. There is a very large vein of graphite around an area of malachite, shown on the map. Everything of use I could find on the island can be found marked on the map shown in the screenshots. Seed: 4558619219548461648 Screenshots: (yes the colors are off, I had to compress the files and remove some color to get them to a smaller size.) Seed and view (Yes that is Malachite, again I am sorry about the colors)Full map with everything I found marked. I hope this is helpful! I am loving this seed, personally.Edit: Can't seem to get the spoilers to work. I never use forums so I've never learned that before. Google has failed me.

so this seed has lots of flat space and fresh water right at spawn with a forest to the south. the screenshots are the cardinal directions from spawn and the large map was a few screenshots of my JourneyMap window saved and pieced together to make a whole map. (didnt have much RAM to keep hitting F2 but most of the things of interest that i have found at the time of posting this have been marked.) Seed: -3464151652631816508 Screenshots: Edit: Forgot the "8" at the end of the seed. fixed now. should look as shown.... hopefully. and thanks kitty. didnt know how to do spoilers. Update: Found limestone about 2500 blocks or so the the west of spawn and chert another 500- 1000 blocks or so after that. Update: Seed still works but ores were shuffled around a bit. Forest in the south is almost all maple now as well. Tetrahedrite and copper found in the first 2 layers, so if you can't find copper, just try digging into the quartzite below and look for the tetra. Overall map gen is about the same though. Good luck all. ^_^V

This is using the latest version of TFC 0.79.29 Searching for a nice starting seed I found this one:-5935372732146990972 It's average biome temperature of 14.5 & rainfall of 1,000 Marble is the top layer rock & digging down at spawn it's Andesite in the middle & Dacite at the bottom. Exposed Malachite & Graphite at x:14673 y:-10059 (within site of the spawn point) I've only flown around for 2 mins in creative but I know Graphite is often hard to find. I won't be playing this seed but I thought someone else might be interested & it looks like a nice world.

Hello everyone. I've been enjoying this mod a lot lately and I came across what I think isa pretty awesome seed and its done me justice so far with starting out! (I'm no expert on TFC but this has been a great seed to me so far) SEED:4833932150374418897 SMALL DISCLAIMER- I am using the [TFC 0.79.29.922] TerrafirmaPack which can be found here: I only make note of this because the modpack includes flowing streams which there are a lot of around the spawn area in this seed so without using the "Streams by delvr" mod your terrain may be slightly different!!!

Before you get your twist in a twist, and start typing on the keyboard... "Hey that's already been suggested. maybe you should search the thing first." (this applies to other players not the mods and admins of this site, just to let you knowyou guys and gals are doing a wonderful job...) Anyways! back on topic, Id like to start by saying I support the idea of meteoric iron. I have distaste in blue and red steel, and I'm well aware this game is shooting for believably, not realism... (took me awhile to wrap my head around since I'm just dumb..." BUT, after I thought and pondered about the old steel types. Which I'm almost sure the Devsare going to change since TFC2 says " a whole new rewrite of the mod." Sowhat to consider changing the oldmetals to. What would be the most plausible option for the highest tier tool, and better help, I have a LOT of experience in metal working, and materials science (metals) well not official but more of recreational. Im just going too put this out but meteoric iron seems like the best substitute for the old blue, black, and red steel. Why? well honestly seems more believable too me. -stays in within time line -Its amine ablemineral / native metal -plus there is multiple types of them "ores"/meteorites(alloy comp) -space metal hasuniquecharacteristicssuch as atomiccrystallinestructures that are hard to replicate on Earth. But then I realize this problem and why I think dunk said no to this. How could this apply to metallurgy? Since the basis is to mix and alloy metals together it would seem worthless to just have a whole new separate metal on its own. but isn't that what iron and steel is? Well, the metal ages go copper, Bronze, Iron, Steel, and I know you guys probably want all mixing of the metals, but I think the better idea would be to have just Copper/Bronze(maybe bismuth bronze/Iron/Steel/Meteoric Iron, and this can apply to tools. NOW I'm not saying mixing the metals is bad and needs to go, I'm saying that just because you have gold, silver and bismuth does not me you should add it in a big pot and get a super metal. To me? not believable, BUT to have certain metals such as stated in order above^ is believable. And the metallurgy idea could be different instead of a giant mixing pot of metal. not so sound mean D: Also I'm not saying trash all the rest ex. gold, brass, silver, platinum. But to re-purposethanfor something more practical from that era so it stays in format with the game/mod. Now I'm aware the mod has black bronze, and bismuth bronze is there as a substitute. but this is just a personnel opinion. Keep bismuth bronze, kick black bronze, but that probably wont happen. just wanted to say it The metal melting process and mixing alloys in a whole beast itself and I have no clue if the Devs are keeping the old system or a awesome new one. fingers crossed* So inconclusion,I think the best option for a last tier metal would be meteoric iron, as in itself is practically just space stainless or kovar metal. I read what other people thought and it seemed positivebut I don't know if anyone would think differently on my point of view. I'm not all sure how it would all work since that's a whole process in itself. And I would just like to say I LOOOVE the idea where I can smelt my metals and mix them, I do this in real life for fun and some income. I really do enjoy it and Id like to see the other metals become more practical in their own aspects. I love this mod and it is truly amazing! I wish I could help more indepthwith metals in the game with my extensive knowledge but anywaysThank you Guys! Thanks for reading- Spinach depth

I'm not sure I'd necessarily want this in TFC, but the idea does interest me and wanted your thoughts on the matter. Years ago some old dudes found some rocks which were a bit orangey, and if they heated them really hot this stuff oozed out and went hard. Thousands of years later another old dude found that mixing this orangey rock stuff with some other grey stuff made another type of orangey stuff which was a bit better, once they bothered to experiment with various ratios. My point is that we know what copper ore is the first time we see it in game, and we know that 90% copper and 10% tin makes bronze, but how does our character know? It would be curious playing Minecraft and digging up some unnamed ore, casting it into a mold and seeing how long it lasts as a tool. Maybe we'd find another ore , and try 70% of unnamed ore 1 and 30% of unnamed ore 2 just for lolz. It might be really soft or brittle, or it might work well. Similarly to how food combinations and taste is randomised on each word seed, these ores would require testing and experimentation before we work out if they're good or not. Colours and names of ores could be randomised for anonymity. This sounds like a terrifying amount of stuff to code, and it also sounds frustrating for the players who just want to make stuff and get on with their lives, so I'm not saying I want this in TFC, but what do you guys think of it?

Seed : 8251376918427039089 Copper: X: 7956 Z: -14109 Bismuth: X: 7841 Z: -1369 Both of them are in the same area and veins meet a couple times. You will have to dig straight down a couple blocks and then dig around a bit to reveal full vein. Have fun mining! Any problems leave a reply. Also there is a lot more copper and bismuth, this was what I have collected so far!

Seed: bloodaltar Don't judge me by the seed, but this should spawn you in a TFC Hign Plains, surrounded by Andesite rocks. By making your way to x: 3615 z-12179 you should be able to see copper in the side of a boulder inside a mountain. There are igneous copper nuggets around to help you make your first pick and get digging. The copper vein gives about a double chest of copper ore, and about 3 stacks of iron hemetite.

I was just wondering if anybody had a more or less complete list of the ore tiers/progression..? After finally getting all tin tools, I know I need to get enough copper to make an anvil.. But what comes after that? What's the next goal?
