      Server Move   09/13/18

I (Dries007) have recently taken over as main developer and server admin. This involved moving servers to reduce cost. It's likely there will be some more downtime in the future but most  things should be sorted by now. This forum is in dire need of replacement as the software is quite old and can't be easily updated. If you wish to discuss or stay updated, join our discord: https://invite.gg/terrafirmacraft. The forum will remain available to read, but will be locked in the future, when a new system is setup. The forum and wiki are now ad free. If you'd like to contribute to keeping it that way, you can do so via paypal or patreon.

TFC Item Art

6 posts in this topic

Hello

I have no idea where else to post this. I have a simple question. I'm making a small modpack focused around metal working for the early game. Basically I'm adding extra steps to get from early game to late game as it is currently too easy and fast in regular vanilla MC. I really loved the TFC molds for the metals, so I decided to use a few, and also create my own molds based off the art of TFC to play with my family. My podpack will likely never be shared online, but in the event that it is ever shared online are you guys ok with me using TFC art as well as creating my own based off the original TFC art? No I will not be using TFC itself, only some of it's art.

If it is a problem, could I use my own art that is based off of TFC? For example a sword hilt mold I created using an edited blank mold. Thanks!

Its Interesting To See TFC Around But No I Think Directly Using The Textures Is A Bad Idea, Of Course A Tweaked Version Is Fine!, It Shows A Small Piece Of TFC Inspired Your Ideas

Thanks for the reply. As I mentioned I did not know where to post this. It is related to TFC's art, so I guess it is related to TFC in my personal interpretation of the rules. If that's not the case then I apologize. I would really like to hear from any developer from this mod. A lot of times content creators don't mind you using their beautiful textures as long as you are not making any money off their art which I won't be in any way. I just wanna be sure that if I ever share my vision of what a minecraft early game progression should be like with the community (as a mod ) that there won't be anyone feeling offended, because I used their art which is not my intention at all. Could even give credits.

Edit:

Ahh I noticed there is TFC as well as TFC2 for newer MC versions. In that case I was referring to TFC the original, but posted on the wrong TFC forum.
