      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

a year

Yes, This would help balance breeding and fruit trees waiting for a cow to give birth for 6 months is not worth it judging from the drop rate of 0-3 steaks per cow and as for the fruit trees they would need to accelerate in the growth process.

If you guys were wondering, if we DO change the length of a year, animals will not mature any faster, as this is determined by a "day" amount

so ya this would not inherently make the changes you want, but it would help you harvest your fruit trees more often

I meant in a "they're totally useless so i just keep them in a pen" way

What exactly is the point or reasoning of changing seasons anyhow? I'm sure in all the large posts I ignored that several people tried to explain their point of view, but there is no benefit to changing the total days or months in a year. Other than it will make a year less relate-able for people. In fact it would probably make the game harder as you have a much lower time period for crop growing and so on. You cant grow tomatoes in winter, at least not in the 1400s (IE when mid-evil times were.)

Not to mention there are WAY better and more important things to be worked on in the mod other than re-balancing everything to work with a shorter year.

Besides, who is to say a year would be 200 days and not 750, or 2000. The most significant thing that would change the year cycle of a planet is distance from the Star. 200 days would probably be somewhere around where Mercury is and we would be sizzling, 2000 days probably where Mars is and not livable; in a comparative sense.
