      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

nothing for me, no messages, no sounds when i trying to place it

i'm pretty sure there is nice sphalerite vein under that place, cuz i found bunch of ore from loose rocks all around this shore, hoping for more ore from sluice, but seems no luck for me

yeah, just got it, you need one block height / two block horizontal for sluice itself, not two by two, stupid me

it flowing from the natural source, in my case - from ocean, but river or any other natural reservoir will do

what is the recipe for sluice boxes?

Same recipe as stairs, except the 'inner' three blocks are wooden planks, and the 'outer' three blocks are sticks.

Knife over wood = 4 bowels, single bowel in crafting grid = gold pan, I think.

Will someone please explain how to get the sluice to work, exactly? It would be nice if these update notes included instructions. I can place the sluice, I can even get the little water drop to turn blue, but I can't get it to actually do anything.

Okay, if you've got the sluice placed properly, all you have to do is drop in gravel or sand. Gravel tends toward ore, sand tends toward gems. I haven't done anything with sand for the obvious reasons, but one gravel block is 'worth' 20 of the 50 maximum.

In addition to dropping sand/gravel into the path of the sluice, you can also r-click your filled gold pan, onto the sluice, to add 7 dirt/'fuel' to the sluice.

I mainly just use that to top it off.

so, is sluicing using buckets impossible now? or am i missing something?

I think that with buckets is no longer possible, if it were before

yeah i'm fairly positive it was, not sure how we're supposed to setup a sluice in the exact spot we want either, but i guess that's why it has a 100 block range, no big, just confusing.

plank item, not plank block.

S X X

P S X

P P S

P = Plank (not planks, the blocks)

S = stick

X = nothing

Keep in mind if you are using build 47 and not 47b, you can only use oak plank to make them instead of any wood, so update if necessary.

Alright, this is ungodly frustrating. Whether or not the sluice will place seems to be entirely up to random chance. I had one placed earlier, and then moved it because I couldn't find any gravel. I now have dug a second set up for a sluice that is the same as the first and now it won't place.

Nevermind, I figured it out. It's just incredibly finicky about what direction you have to be facing to place the sluice

yeah i sort of agree, it places them backwards of the direction you might think it's going to, only needs to be trial and error the first time though from what i can tell.

The adf.ly client link still links to 47, not 47b. Grr

Edit: Same with the server
