      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

New Idea

6 posts in this topic

for firepits and forges and bloomerys produce smoke and will fill the room up if not ventalated properly. I hope you consider the idea.

err... this goes in the suggestions part of the forum, not in the discussion ._.

and, about the idea... nope. As making gases is way too difficult to code, for the forges there is the need for a clear view to the sky -which will avoid any smoke to fill the room- and the bloomeries work better in higher altitudes -i think- for avoiding players using it underground. About the firepit, i don't think it would fill any room; i personally never use them inside any building, for aesthetics, so it would be pointless.

I think there was also the issue of calculating the smoke volumetric data and the whole thing in general being a performance drain.

I'd love to see charcoal pits generate upward smoke that could be seen from a distance in the sky. Even if it wasn't too fancy or complex, it would be neat to have, essentially, smoke signals. I could see it being a signal for raids if such an idea is ever implemented - a signal that mobs would see from afar and be drawn to,

i agree that charcoal pits need to make more smoke, though this should be in the suggestions thread

Oh we could certainly do it (shittily, though) and it would be a right fucking nuisance. The chimney requirements kinda emulate this a little bit already.

Minecraft technically has "air" blocks, so other gases might not be so dificult, but you can throw gas laws right out the window. Might have something related to this for possibly hydraulics or pneumatics later?
