Installation with multimc and nostalgia

So basically i downloaded:

minecraftforge-client-3.3.8.152

MC 1.2.5 - Player API client 1.5

TFCclient-client-core-B"build47f

TFC_Resources

And put them into the minecraft.jar folder in "edit mods" with multimc.

I had used minecraft nostalgia to get a 1.2.5 version of the jar folder and deleted the meta-inf, so everything should be the correct versions put in at the correct order, yet i get this when trying to start minecraft:

just download the unmodded vanilla client and start with that.

you shouldnt need to pre-delete anything with multimc, just have it use a vanilla jar

also install order matters.

It was in this install order, which is the order they are in at the download part of the terrafirmacraft website

And when i use the vanilla client i get black screen, as terrafirmacraft is incompatible with 1.3.1..

Mojang website provides both server and client jar of older version for download.Its not the full copy of MC but Here you go:

Ohh, nice find.

In checking assets.minecraft.net also found the jars going back to beta 1.8. I think that might have been the oldest, but it also included 1_3_1 too.

Nobody suggests MCnostalgia? I haven't checked to see if it's updated but you should go look.

Samaban's link is good. The only thing left out is a few bug fixes, I use the prerelease (because I never updated to actual 1.2.5), I have never encountered a bug. Now 1.3 and 1.3.1 on the other hand are shit.

^this, I make a backup copy of server & client as soon as I begin using it.

also, I believe there is a tool called minecraft nostalgia. If you can get a diff file made between 1.2.5 and 1.3.1 it will back-patch the new client into the old client.

Yeah I think I counted 58 backup minecraft.jars yesterday.

Did the OP actually install the mods INTO the jar or did he install forge and drop the others into the mods directory?

I guess i kinda ended up abandoning the issue, as i got it to work by myself. When i got it to work, i kinda locked myself in a room for a few days... (this mod is awesome)

I couldn't get the nostalgia version to work with the standard use of multimc, so i changed the jar file from multimc with the modded jar i got to work outside of multimc. This solution worked quite well, except that somehow trees gave me game-breaking lag.. luckily, optifine fixed that.

Good to hear (and yes it is ) . As long as you got it working, and are enjoying it, that should be all the matters. Though I hope trying to get it to work didn't stress you out too much.

No idea why, but that's really common. And 1fps for 2 sec is not gamebreaking, silly. Glad you got it running, hope to see you around.

Is there any other fix for this? I am getting the exact same error when following the installation instructions on this forum and on the website to a T....

after replacing jar with 1.2.5 run minecraft first before installing anything. then close and install mods. you have to run it with a clean jar before you can mod it
