      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

How do i get better FPS without optifine?

5 posts in this topic

hello,

how would i get better fps without using optifine with only terrafirmacraft and Rei's minimap installed? my computer specs are as followed.

Processpor: Intel® Pentium® CPU p611 @ 2.00 Ghz 2.00 Ghz

Installed RAM: 4.00CG (3.80 GB usable)

System type: 64 - bit Operating System.

i Have a custom launcher with changeable Ram allocation and have plenty of computer knowledge to do whatever it takes to get better fps, currently with only 400 Ram allocated i get 6 to 9 fps on the lowest possible settings, with 1G ram allocated i usually have 15 to 20 FPS but with lag spikes, should i allocate more ram or is their anything i can use with Terrafirmacraft to get better fps that is compatible?

P.S. i can allocate up to 2.5 GB of ram is thats what i need to do, plus i have the latest GameBooster Pro by iorbit.

thank you.

Some advice:

1.Don't use GameBooster, it's crap.

2.Why don't you want to use optifine?

3.Try allocating 1GB ram foj java, it helps for me.

Hope this helps...

2.Why don't you want to use optifine?

because bioxx said it may be dropped in the future

DocStinetheREALmusician buy a rambrick try to allocate more ram

do you have the 64 or the 32 version of java ?

you can also give minecraft and java a higher priority in the taskmanager (if you have windows)

what graphicscrad do you have ?

While optifine support may be dropped in the future, it works well in 47f if it's installed after TFC_Core (i.e. last thing). If you have it, and you need it, why not use it? You can cross that non-optifine bridge when you get there. Minecraft defaults (in my computer anyway, I assume everyones?) to allocating 1gig of RAM. I wouldn't go below that.

I'm assuming by p611, you mean Pentium p6100 (and thank you for making me test my google-fu on that one). Going by these benchmark results, it seems relatively comparable to a core 2 duo 2.6ghz, which seems reasonably fast to play minecraft. In fact, going by that info alone, I would say something isn't right with your computer more so than minecraft. If you're able, I would recommend downloading the freeware program Speccy (there is paid version for it, you don't need it), Install it, run it, go to file > publish snapshot, then copy and paste the link in this forum for us.

okay so i updated my Java to full 1.7 and made a custom batch launcher with 2GB allocated with the newest version of Terrafirma and i know get 20 to 30 FPS with little lag, Also i just ordered 4 more GB of ram to add to my computer, if you guys want 2 4GB ramchips for only 41$ with free shipping go to http://www.crucial.com and use the scan tool they provide and i promise you will get a deal.
