      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Installing TFCraft through cloudcrafting.com

8 posts in this topic

I've updated the server.jar

I've made a mods folder.

It lets us log in if we have TFCraft... but it doesn't show rocks on the ground, biomes aren't any different, and if we touch a tree, it rubberbands. On top of this, I can't punch a tree down, which means that somewhere it's reading that I can't punch trees to get wood anymore...

More info: It's running the server on vanilla, while all the clients are running TFCraft... since it's through a third-party server hosting company, I don't think I can just run minecraft_server.jar to get it working.

@EstebanLB, that doesn't really answer my question at all. I know I need stone tools to get wood from trees and whatnot. However, I also need to figure out why the server is still running vanilla but won't let players connect unless they have all the mods installed client side. I tried punching a tree to see if the server would let me, and it wouldn't. However, there are no rocks on the ground to pick up to use the knapping interface to create the tool heads that I need in order to survive in this world.

Do you have direct access to the server installation? Sounds like you do if you updated the minecraft_server.jar. Could be that you're running TFCraft with a vanilla generated world. Try stopping the server, then renaming or deleting the world folder so that TFCraft generates a new world with the right data when you start again.

If you don't have forge in the server jar, it's not going to load any other forge mods, namely TFCraft in this case. I'm not familiar with this hosting company, so you may need to ask them how you would go about modifying the server jar. Going by the info I'm seeing on the FAQ, you may be SOL since there's no bukkit port of TFCraft and there doesn't seem to be a way to upload a modified sever jar. Then again, I can't see the control panel to know your options.

What software will cloudcrafting install on my server?

Our micro (256MB) and small (512MB) plans are currently pre-installed with the standard Minecraft Server Software - other software is not supported for those plans. But on the other hand, our 1GB plans come with the latest recommended build of Bukkit installed by default - changing to any desired build of CraftBukkit is possible through our self-developed control panel.

Will I have Root Access? How about FTP?

No - we do not offer any shell/ftp access. Maps can be uploaded through the control panel.

EDIT: Apparently, their features page says you do have FTP access if you have the 1G plan. If you have that, you may be able to upload the modified minecraft_server.jar that way. Either way, you have to have a server jar with forge and playerapi for TFCraft to play nice.

I've uploaded it via FTP clients, created a mods folder, and threw in TFCraft.

I feel really stupid right now... but I think my friend and I figured it out.

I put the Forge RAR file in the mods folder... not TFCraft. I'm at work right now so I'm having him update it for me.

Lesson learned from this endevour? Don't mod your server when you're half asleep.
