      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Not trying to be rude or anything, but shouldn't this be in the "Support" forum?

And sorry I can't help at all.

Ah fuck I knew I was going to do something wrong. Should I move it over there?

The forum mods are the only people who can move topics, I advise for this thread to continue as normal until a mod decides to move it. Unfortunetly I am not particularly knowledgable in this matter, but I hope some one comes along who can help! Can you start a new world or did you have a lot of progress into this save?

I just downloaded it and tried it. Like you said, shortly after loading the FPS dropped to 1/0. But you can get around this... here's what I did:

Choose the direction with a straight line of land. As soon as you see the fps drop, hit esc to bring up menu. Fps recovers during this time. Hit esc again to return to the game and keep moving *in that straight line*. Quickly hit esc a few moments later to let it regain.

Repeat this pattern for maybe 10-20 metres. Once you've gone a little distance away from that spawn point, the fps drop will reduce rapidly. Another few steps and it won't occur at all. Stay in this safe zone for a minute or so, and then when you return you can do so safely - the squids are despawned and the world recovered.

[i have an i5-2500K with a Asus GTX 550. If your system is substantially slower, you may need to be a bit quicker with the esc hits and take more time trying to get out of that damaged zone]

PS: That world appears to have some Chunk-sized holes... is that in your version? Your world may have been corrupted in more than just some squidly ways.

I recommend you restart a new world, use the same seed if you wish, but you seem to have problems originating from the power-outage.

Always keep backups of your main saves ;)

Yeah this is wierd. we didn't chagne the squid class at all, so tfc code isn't causing this.

Thanks for the help guys. So I to get out of this pickle, I just used MCEdit to move myself back to my house. Unfortunately, a lot of stuff was messed up, presumably by the BSOD, or maybe MCEdit. Lost my tools, my roof, and my bloomery turned into an ore block but that's about it. So I just put as much stuff into a few chests and moved it all to a new world. This new one has limestone at spawn!

This is not a TFC issue. I've had it happen when I was playing a techmod a few months ago, where the area around my house had hundreds of spiders/skeletons/etc.

MCEdit can delete entities, so if for any reason this happens to someone else, you can select the entire chunk and delete it, entities included.
