my game says I am missing the mod custom npcs 0.8

That can't be right, that is a really old version of customnpcs and tfc has npcs disabled. I was going to search an archived version and install it but... I can't shake the feeling that something is not right.

do a google search for "Custom NPCs 1.4.6" I believe the 1.4.7 version also works on this server, at least this is what I was told. You can also download the mod from the facebook page. Its a pinned post so its at the top of the group page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/141395702671350

Thanks, that was the version I found when i first searched it, I was just concerned that it wasn't the same as the version the client was asking for.

In addition I don't have facebook and the first post of this thread lists other mods but didn't list custom npcs. This has now been corrected however.

What does this mod actually do in TFC though?

--Edit: Ok after joining the server it was clear pretty quick what that mod is for. I like the idea.

What does this mod actually do in TFC though?

Duncan, I originally replied via mobile so my answer was short and sweet. Now that im on a browser, I can be more in depth: CustomNPCs will allow us to create daily quests that you can do to earn items, and you can hire NPCs to follow you if you need assistance in the wild and people who own towns can purchase merchants for their town who can help them create a community atmosphere for their towns. Hope that answers your question. ITS A VERY USEFUL MOD!

Duncan, we are trying to make it more difficult for people to travel across the map fast illegitimately and replace that stuff with ways to travel faster legitimately. I will be adding a new mod this week (and probably last mod to add) called Simply Horses. Apparently there is a TFC version of this now and it will allow you to use horses to travel fast. We are going to need people to help plant oak trees and mine Iron for me so that we can build a rail system. I want to be able to allow people to travel that way instead of using /warp or multiple /home settings.

Good *insert local time-of-day here*!

Long time player of MC, most of the time with various mods. I have played TFC on and off over the past year or so, so I am at least familiar with the basics, although I've never really gotten much past Tier 1 stuff.

I'm currently in the mood to give it another shot but I'd like some company this time around. Lately I have noticed MC can grow pretty stale without some company around and having people around might give me a little boost and incentive to actually finish projects for a change.

I've made 25-and-a-half trips around the sun and hail from the glorious lands of Dutchtopia. I have also, naturally, read the rules and accept them with my entire soul and being. Alas, I cannot brag about having been banned from servers before. In fact, it's often me who complains when people are being immature little brats, doing stuff without your permission. >.> Unfortunately I doubt you'll find much backround info about me on other servers though, as the servers I have played on up until now have all been semi-private ones with people from dutch forums, so I'm afraid you'll have to take my word on this.

Other Stuff: I really enjoyed playing TFC the last time I tried it (I think it was Build 45? Something like that...), as the difficulty and complexity of the mod really appealed to my particular play style. With the recent additions to Chisel functionality I am really looking forward to trying them out on a build.
