      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Vanilla Red Brick

8 posts in this topic

[suggestion]: Create a way to obtain vMC Brick or it's substitute.

[Example]:

a) 2x2 Clay gives a Clay Brick b.)Burning out in a Forge gives a Brick c) 2x2 Brick gives vMC Brick Block d) V shape gives (new) vMC Clay Pot

[Motivation]:

I always wanted to use the vMC brick at TFC, simply because it's something a bit better than just rocks, be it raw or such. I do not know wether Bioxx is planning something for the Clay, yet the Bricks are getting some uses now, at vMC. We can use the Item Frames and Walls, so it's a simple wish for the Pots.

maybe simplicity to this?

1. Put Clay in craft table (unshaped recipe) - take a wet brick? After that - burn it in forge/fire pit - take a brick. And after that - like vanilla recipe all other things with bricks.

A problem here and in the OP as well: mortar. Bricks don't just join together 'cause they like each other, you need soemthing to stick them to each other.

From what i know, though, maybe raw clay could serve to this purpose : so, maybe the crafting of a vanilla brick block could be like this:

BCB

CCC

BCB

B: brick, C: clay

When mortar exists, will stone brick blocks slide like dirt unless you put mortar between them?

Unless you make bricks placeable, and make it work a bit like wood piles but limited: If you place mortar, you can place another brick, and so on until you place the fourth one. However, if some time passes, you won't be able to separate them again, even if you didn't filled the brick. It would reflect the bricks it has graphically, and you could use this instead of the chisel to make brick stairs (you don't place the fourth brick and leave a stair to dry out.)
