      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Underground

11 posts in this topic

Are the developers planing any more content added to the underground in TFC?

It's probably won't be dungeons like in vanilla but maybe something else.

The natural caver are very rare and very small.

Doesn't it bother anyone that the underground is just mining blindly (what about people that are afraid of close places :P)

So are there any plans?

The mobs, the evil mobs, will be moved underground and in the surface remain the animals.

And luckily they're rarer than vanilla caves. Do you remember those holes dug by a sandworm? Those were the vanilla caves. Bleah!

you have no idea what we have planned? You should be happily surprised. Dig around in discusson suggestions and off-topic. That's where I post relevant info.

lol

Caves can be really big in TFC, especially the "lava caves". But they are not as rare as I thought they would be. Not as rare as I would like them to be, actually. I hope there will be more "special" stuff underground. New things to discover.

lava caves? I know that all the bedrock covered with lava, had a really fun time digging 100++ ores on the edge of a lava lake (8-10 height), causing a couple of rock collapses.

Because of the bad mapping or whatever I able to see the caves throw chunks and I barely saw anything, they wasn't bigger or even smaller then the vanilla caves. Also never saw a cave that goes up to the surface (like vanilla) and that is why they are rare. Maybe it's just the seed.

Yep, they do reach the surface. And sometimes, the effect is truly spectacular, with multiple huge entrances burned in the side of a mountain...^^

I spawned into a world where the ground began giving way as soon as I was able to move... not under me, fortunately, but close enough to me to make me soil my 16x16 pixel britches! The dirt collapsed into a crevasse so deep that the light from the sun barely hit the bottom. I could make out stalagmite formations on the cavern floor below. I haven't dug around enough in the forums to see a lot of what the future holds for TFC, but I am willing to guess that what we have right now is just the tip of the iceberg! I am excited!

I'm ok with spawning right besides a giant cave/crevice/hole in the earth, but please, Dunk.. tell me you won't let us spawn right over something that will kill us due to the fall D: please... unplayable maps are no fun, specially when they would otherwise be quite good worlds...
