      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

It's bad enough that north is negative, but why is north/south the z axis and not the y axis?

It's been a while since I last played around with openGL but I don't remember it working that way.

North or not, my coordinates are z = -14k.

It may make some sense, but where do they get reversed?

When making a chart in 2 dimensions +Y is up, When making a chart in 3 dimensions +Y is still up, so Z is left to be the cross way.

This is probably one of... 6 or so things I learned and retain from my 5 years worth of college math...

God forbid anyone trying to emulate proper convection waves in minecraft.

You should be able to do a pretty good simulation of convection using the same techniques as for global illumination.

Yeah. Except there's like thousand of heat levels instead of 16 light levels.

You probably wouldn't need more than a few hundred practically...

Even single hundred is a little too much. I can think of implementation of heat systems based on the same principle as minecraft lighting, but I still think this either will be imprecise and slow, or little bit more precise and laggy as fish.

I would enjoy making a heating chamber under a small field that is walled around and covered over with a glass roof, effectively making a greenhouse. When the temp inside drops to a bad threshhold, burn a couple trees to heat up the ground above and keep the wheat coming.

Don't you question the lagginess of fish. I once did that. Let's just say this i'm using used to be a gaming computer... -__-
