      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Armor storage

9 posts in this topic

Armor racks would be badass, and would be used in both practical storage ways and for aesthetic purposes.

However, even if racks aren't do-able, it would be nice to have some way of storing armor somewhere

instead of racks, why not a 4 block big armor stand (think of AC 3's armor stand beneath the mansion) where you could fit armor and 1 weapon on (perhaps even shields if they are ever made)

I'd prefer armor racks more like the ones in this: (2:30)

Seems functional enough. Much like the tool racks. Never played AC3

actually exactly what i meant, except the size would be bigger than 1 block, given the fact armor is quite big, and there needs to be space underneath the armor too :D

I was just thinking about this while designing a new house based on the ones you build in the Hearthfire dlc for Skyrim. Armor stands would not only help with house decorations (war room anyone?) and storage, but they are almost like a way to show off your progress as you advance through the various materials.

I agree that the stand should be a 3d model that displays that armor as if worn by a player as opposed to how the tool rack displays items. Maybe have it built by stacking four blocks of smooth stone on top of each other and chisel off layers to make a certain shape? When you get the right configuration the game detects it with the last block update and replaces the block stack with an armor stand model.

If this is done, it would in fact have to be split into two parts. (yay, busts)

You can use items frames to store your armor in a cool looking way.

Yeah, but that only shows the sprite work for the item icon, it also is very lame looking if you are trying to do decorations for a war room or an armory. Item frames are good for weapons, or hell shields would work nice with them (kind of, would be small looking now that I think of it), but there is so much detail in the actual render of the armors that it feels like a shame to store old sets into chests when you move up in materials and item frames do not do the armors justice. Honestly, armor is one of the best looking items in the mod currently, really nice designs, and I think that they deserve to be shown off.

Not to mention that if you want to make a truly badass entrance hall, nothing says "my wealth doth exceed your own" quite like a row of steel armor suits standing guard.
