      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[B66] Big bug found

9 posts in this topic

So I was in creative and I was making my test base where I can find some bugs and I found one. I was mining dirt with a chisel and it broke instantly because I was in creative+ of NEI. Then I tried going into the hole that I created and I could not enter, like when you try going into an entity. I made other holes to see if this was a bug. All the other holes had the same problem, and after some time...the dirt blocks were REGENERATING! All the blocks that I mined with the chisel were back again! I tried turning creative off and I tried mining dirt blocks with the chisel, but they instantly regenerated like when you punch wood and then it regenerates again. A bug or the chisel not made to dig?

hmm

It would be my assumption the chisel is not made to dig, but you can dig with your hands so if this is intentional it seems a little silly.

This makes me half happy and half not happy.

Yeah chisels can't destroy blocks. Go in your real world and try to take down a torch or something.

Then you guys are saying that this is intentional, true? I asked this because blocks regenerating is not believable.

I asked this because blocks regenerating is not believable.

I think there's a technical reason why blocks can't be "unbreakable". So this apparent regeneration is the only way to get the same result.

Yes, there is, but I wish it had been worked out of vanilla, it's in for a good reason, so nobody can be locked down permanently by griefers, but it inhibits so many mods.

Blocks are either breakable or not, either bedrock or eventually punching it will break it, it would be nice if there were blocks that could only be moved by the proper tool natively.
