      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

The scan is at 30% after 45 minutes... this is going to be a looooong day. :-@

Update: 69% after about 2 hours, still no signs of anything malicious, hoping it's in the last 30%

i had a similar virus once, if its like mine, it can only activate if your computer has internet access. try booting with your router/modem off and see if you have temporary access, then do a system restore, see if that helps at all.

I got infected with a version of this virus. Typical locking of the desktop, and you cant interact with anything other than what they want to you interact with on the page thats displayed. The best way to get rid of this, in my experience wasnt really all that complicated.

Ill assume that your infection was the same, or behaves the same as mine did, so no guarentees.

1. Start computer in safemode (without networking to prevent reinfection if its some type of trojan)

2. Find and delete the Internet explorer app data store in AppDataLocalMicrosoft.

3. The virus I had also was affecting a number of the files in AppDataLocal where the file name was a long GUID (hexidecimal number in curly brackets)

4. Restart the machine to see if its gone.

5. There may also be registry entries associated with this virus, so deleting the content in safemode, might cause random explorer windows to pop up on startup after getting rid of the virus content. Typically you could get rid of those by doin a search for the path to the folder that opens up in your registry via the regedit command in CMD, and deleting the registry keys but be WARNED. Screwing with the registry while being inexperienced will almost certainly ruin windows, or applications on it by way of self pwnage!!!!

6. Running processes at startup should be checked to ensure that only the stuff you want to start is actually starting when windows boots, the command for this is msconfig in XP or later.

I am very sorry to hear you got that assinine virus. Trust me I feel your pain.

Not to keep a dead thread incessantly active, but....

I'M BAAAACK!

With the Mac Mini running at full swing, it took a little looking into, but I finally figured out how to mod all up on MC and get 1.4.6 chugging with the one and only, super awesome TFC mod! I am stoked and hope anyone who has gone through what I had gone through with that God Forsaken virus never has to experience that again.

And for those of you that have gone through it or that are, I hope your problems get remedied quickly and again, you never have to experience that again.

I went through some rough spots, and had to get rid of some music equipment to pay bills and rent, but I should be back in shop soon. More Music coming in the near future!!
