      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[SOLVED] - Annoying Crash - Exception in server tick loop

6 posts in this topic

POSSIBLE FIXES

1. Could be your version of Optifine

2. Increase the numbers of ''maximum chunks per ticket" and "maximum ticket count" in forgeChunkLoading.cfg

3. Update your LWJGL

4. In Optifine, change the chunk updates option to 5

5. Could be a problem with MultiMC

Hi Everyone,

So I've been encountering an annoying bug, where minecraft will start to shudder, and freeze, causing a crash. Usually It's not a problem, except when I'm generating new chunks. That is when it happens most. Sometimes when exploring, or boating, It crashes within a few seconds of generating new chunks D: Here is my crash report:

I only have a few other mods installed, and it seems to crash like that ever since I got the mod. Can someone please help :) Thanks!

I've also been having this issue, specifically when loading new chunks as said above.

I am indeed a multimc user.

I have noticed that updating my LWJGL to 2.8.4 (2.8.5 has a strange input bug) has reduced the severity and frequency of the issue quite a bit though, but it does still happen on occasion.

A good way to reproduce it consistently is to load a creative singleplayer world and walk in a single direction for a few thousand blocks. I can't reproduce this in vanilla. I know TFC loads a lot more blocks per chunk, but even moving 50-100k blocks in vanilla gets me no real major increase in lagginess.

The lag isn't due to a lack of resources either, as far as i can tell. My instance has 2gb of ram allocated to it and i'm using an i7 920 and a Geforce GTX 260 core 216, which should be more than capable of running things smoothly, and in fact did perfectly prior to build... 65 i think it was.

I'm pretty sure it's your version of OptiFine. That one causes that problem a lot. (It was a very early release full of bugs... you should try a later release from the 1.4.2 series.)

You're not giving MC much ram to work with either though. If your going to run with all those mods and TFC, you should jack that up.

I found another fix:

If you go into the forgeChunkLoading.cfg, increase the numbers in these:

# Maximum chunks per ticket for the mod.

maximumChunksPerTicket=50

# Maximum ticket count for the mod. Zero disables chunkloading capabilities.

maximumTicketCount=300

That also helped me

I'm getting the same problem (I have that issue for FTB too and the -XX:PermSize=128m works there, but I don't know how to do this via the TerraFirmaCraft launcher). I don't use any of those things, so the only option would be changing the cfg file and that doesn't seem to help.
