I cant tell if this is a "No good deed goes unpunished." or a "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." kind of situation.

On one hand, he tried to share his knowledge to others (the good deed) and was banned for it (the punishment)

but on the other hand he but broke a rule to do it (the hell part).

Guess its both.

he is only suspended, not banned. and as for the choice between two, I think it's the second. because while in his mind it may have been a good deed, it kinda ruins the fun for anyone just starting to learn to smith.

I'd say more like wearing a speedo... People warn you not too, but when you wear it anyway, it ruins the beach for everyone else.
