      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Which ore is the best? With good I mean breaking strength and how fast / kill

For ores, well...ores aren't useful unless you smelt them into metal, and like transcengopher said, iron ore. Wrought Iron (Hematite, Magnetite, or Limonite) is the best metal you can get with only a single ore. Wrought Iron however, is made from Pig iron being worked on an anvil. Without additional working, it is Pig Iron.

You can also make an alloy from Pig Iron and Wrought Iron; Steel. Technically speaking, Steel is the strongest/best/highest tier/whatever metal that only requires one ore.

If you are asking for the best METAL, then it is obviously the best tier metal, Tier 6. Or Red and Blue Steel. Both Red and Blue Steel are equal to what I know.

Also, we are unable to give you exact numbers about the durability, breaking speed from the code, or other methods used. This is taboo and ruins the discovery aspect of the mod. Bioxx does not want the game to be a numbers game.

That being said, we have a thread having numbers that was controversial at first, but was addressing a major issue in the tier progressing. But it seems Bixx has fixed that.

Hematite, technically. But it doesn't make the best tools in the game, you need multiple ores to form alloys.

However, iron is used to make rails and minecarts, which pretty much means it's all you need.

Then magnetite is the one. It's yields most amount of metal, while being very common.
