      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Config problem fix?

2 posts in this topic

  • Please correct me on any mistakes in my post.

Ok, so apparently you have to delete the config files every time you update, or else crafting recipes and drops get messed up. I was wondering, why can't the mod make a new config for each update? For example, for the current build (B75) the configs could end with "B75.cfg" and only use that config file. Then, when the next update comes around, a new config could be made ending with "B76.cfg" and would only use that config file. These could be stored in a TFC folder in the config folder (or maybe not, I don't know if that would work) so it wouldn't get too cluttered up. I don't have much of a problem with just deleting them every update, but it seems like this would fix the problems some people have.

My guess is because Bioxx would have to update the code in every update to use a different config file name... which would be a pain in the kiester.

So it is a lot easier for Bioxx if we take 10 seconds of our time (which is asking very little of us), and delete our config files before we update.
