      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Ores blending in?

31 posts in this topic

i am not all that ssupportive of this idea, as ores are actually easy to see againt its host rock if you know whaat your looking for.

I think idea is to make the ores less visible. If it's easy to tell the difference, wouldn't you be supportive of it? Or are you saying you like that it is easy?

I'm not a complete fool, but I promise, that ore was nearly invisible and the block looked EXACTLY like normal stone.

Sphalerite on conglomerate blocks is very easy to miss in certain lighting conditions. Magnetite too, but it's slightly more noticeable.

i agree that sphalerite needs a texture change, though perhaps just a minor tweek so its easier to view

the other ores on the other hand i think are fine

Needing a texture change isn't really that big of a deal. If you want one, just lighten it in a simple photo editor.

I think it's more about whether the texture is SUPPOSED to look like that, or if it is just a result of the way the color mixing and textures work together. If it's supposed to be nearly impossible to see, then fine. But if it's something that happens as a coincidence, then it might need to be looked at.
