      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Minecraft 1.4.7

9 posts in this topic

So, I am assuming that TFC does not work on 1.4.7, which isn't really a problem, except...

I accidentally updated my minecraft, which is absolutely wonderful. I wasn't really paying attention to what I was doing.

It doesn't look as though forge .486 will work with 1.4.7, which seems to be my problem at this point. The simplest fix would probably be to downgrade back to 1.4.6, but I don't know how. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

BTW, I am getting stuck on the Updating Minecraft screen when I try to log in. It says it's done loading, but the green bar isn't completely full and it just freezes there.

Google for 'MultiMC' - Your new Gamelauncher for your Minecraft! ;)

There you can made several 'instances' for your Minecraft - all in different versions or mod-setups - easy to downgrade, integrated DL-Function for Forge, integrated function for updating your LWJGL, and some other neat functions!

Is there a way other than MultiMC?

I have it already and I have used it before, but for some reason - especially when playing TFC - it causes twice as much lag as playing without it does.

Unless there is a way to prevent this lag from happening. Then I would be fine with using MultiMc,

The simplest way would be to install MultiMC, as Waveshaper suggested; MCNostalgia is built into the application. Also, Waveshaper what's new in MultiMC (I haven't used it in awhile)?

Use MCNostalgia; It'll help greatly.

P.S. - Or you could visit the option to modify the amount of RAM your MineCraft is allocating (explore MultiMC's UI a bit; I don't remember much of its interface).

You can simply google for 'minecraft.jar 1.4.6'?

To be honest - I've never heard about real 'performance problems' caused bei MultiMC - technically there is not much difference to vanilla, after you've started an instance. But I can think one some reasons, that can cause such behavior - one possibility is, if you run MultiMC from a place on your harddisk that is protected or you don't have the full admin-rights. There are also other launcher - like 'Magic Launcher' for example - used this for a while - is also a good piece of software. Or, you simply make different 'Instances' by yourself and if you want to change it frequently you can write a .bat-file that swaps your different MC directories.

Since there isn't a mod API, mods have to directly edit the base classes, and the obsfucation for the classes change every update. Think of it like a map through a labyrinth, but the corridors move every patch - the mod author has to redraw the map in order for you to get from start to finish everytime the corridors move.

As far as it freezing when you log in, the easiest solution is to delete the bin folder from .minecraft and force an update, but that'll update you to 1.4.7. The tools such as MultiMC described by other posters is your best bet for downgrading.

What is wrong with MCnostalgia?

Also, don't just google minecraft.jar 1.4.6, I'm pretty sure that is illegal.
