      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Leather repairs!

5 posts in this topic

(FUUUU Didn't post the first time D:)

Ok, so i was playing yesterday, and suddenly thought, why can't i repair my armour? D:

So maybe you 'sew' a new peice on and increase it's durability like so: Damaged leather armour+leather+string=Less damaged leather armour

Maybe we could weld sheets or 2xsheets (or both) onto metal armour to repair it, and then hammer it into place, and depending how close to the middle of the upper slider (the red one) effects how good the repair is?

I do believe this has been discussed, however I do like the idea of armor being repairable.

Imo, it might be better if each time you repaired it, the Max durability of the armor dropped a little. This makes it so armor isn't indestructible. Same with weapons.

I can't foresee this, or other uses of leather making it into TFC though, as Bioxx is now working on TFC².

Perhaps we will see it there?

Armor repairing? yeah. Leather armor repairing basically by placing leather on the holes? not really, from what i can remember ._.

I think this should ONLY apply to leather armor. I mean, it makes more sense than repairing metal armor (which is also OP from a game perspective).

Knife + string + leather (1-3 leather depending on damage and piece of armor) + armor piece = repaired armor piece. This repaired piece will never repair to full durability, meaning you can only repair so many times before you have to make a new set.

Metal armor repair most definitely makes sense. I would hate to think they melted down metal armor and reforged it because it had been cracked or pierced by arrow. That would be insanely innfficient cost and timewise.

I would also think that the molecular bond between to pieces of metal (welding) would be akin to throwing a patch on a leather jerkin.

I agree armor is overpowered at the moment, but what thus far in game has actually offered up any real threat to label metal armor as over powered?
