      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Better Log breaking?

9 posts in this topic

I'll jump straight in with the suggestion. :)

I feel the time it takes to break logs should be based on the number of logs that are going to be broken. This means chopping larger trees would take a lot longer to break and the smaller trees are quicker. This would also mean your not going to be waiting a silly amount of time to break 1 log you may have accidently placed.

A possibility would be having 1 log take about 1 second to break and add 1 second for every other log. Other things that could be taken in to account could be axe efficiency and wood hardness.

I hope I've explained the suggestion well enough for people to understand, I hope you like the idea.

Ok does this make any sense realisticly? No the mod isn't a 100% realism mod but it simulates it well enough.

Yes, I like this idea.

hey you see that little like button on the right there? yeah press that instead of posting stuff like that

does it need to make sense realistically? no, does it need to make sense logically? yes, and it does.

this mod is NOT, i repeat NOT, trying to be realistic, its trying to be believable which is completely different.

yeah, this is a very good idea - it would make breaking down a log hut so much easier, due to the fact that in early game a log house is the easiest way to get started unless youve got alot of friends to help you dig up metals and help you build an elaborate house ... i settled for a 7x7 log cabin when i first set up my world. lol.

i think that breaking the base of a tree and breaking a single piece of wood takes the same time...

While we are on the topic of breaking things. i really think that cobblestone should be breakable by hand (but ratehr slowly) as it basically consists of a ton of loose rocks.

T-UP regarding the logs.
