      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Windows7 TFC Server problems

5 posts in this topic

I've been trying to start a TFC server on Windows 7 but all I get when I follow the wiki at http://terrafirmacraft.com/wiki/Installation#Server_Installation is an error box saying: Java exception occurred. I've been trying to research setting up a TFC server but there's not much online about it. There was a clientside install youtube I found for installing with MultiMC and it mentioned deleting a particular folder. When I did that in the server, it came up with a corrupt java error, so that's not it. I haven't found anything else anywhere that looks different from the server install on the wiki to try something else and was just wondering if anyone here had any ideas.

I know for sure that you can put the contents of the TFC zip into the server jar just like forge and pAPI, if you do it after those two and leave it out of the mods folder.  Also, the run.bat sometimes just fails if your computer doesn't recognize the java command - mine didn't.  If you replace java with the actual file path to java, that may well clear it up.

With the information you gave us, it's not even possible to start helping you in any way.

You have to describe step-by-step what you did, with file names you used and how you used them.

Saying, i followed the wiki http://terrafirmacra...er_Installation is not enough.

And a crash/error log would also help.

It's almost always a tiny thing that get's missed, and you have to help us find it :)

I'm not entirely sure how to do a crash error log for a server but I did try installing the client manually, then with MultiMC, which ended up telling me that probably one of the downloads I used was wrong. I used the versions stated in the wiki particularly for the server and for the exact version of minecraft used (at least in how the wiki stated it). I may have to google them and find them myself, rather than using the ones in the wiki. I'm considering getting into MultiMC and writing down the exact versions of forge and api/etc. from there.

What are you trying to install, a TFC client, or server?

You don't need MultiMC if you want to setup a server, you can use it for you're client though.
