      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[TFC 0.77] Installation issues

I'm trying to install TFC 0.77 following this guide (http://terrafirmacraft.com/wiki/Installation). Everything works fine until I try adding the TFC zip file to the mods folder when Minecraft crashes.

I have downloaded/installed Forge .837 and am running a Forge profile.

The first part of the error mentions an id conflict with fruit leaves and the block that occupies id slot number 173. Do you have any other mods installed?

Id 173 is, to the best of my knowledge, unallocated in vanilla.

Never mind, ID 173 is the block of coal. Try going into TFCOptions.cfg or somesuch file and change the block id settings for Fruit Leaves to something else. I think Forge includes a fix that allows you to use IDs up to 4096 for blocks.

No other mods installed, the TFC zip is the only thing in my .mods folder

I still have no idea what the problem was but I solved it by nuking .minecraft and doing a fresh install. So many old (and removed) mods, launchers, etc that it was time for a refresh anyway.
