All of the Mods Work With TFC!

For mods that need vanilla items use the config of TFC to accomplish it.

And when all else fails use the Custom recipes in the Custom NPC mod.

 

 

 

First of all, I would like to say thank you to the entire T.F.C. team mod team and website team.

 

So lets get down to business, I was thinking of making a mod pack for TFC.

So after looking through the addon Section here on the forums, I came up with a pretty awesome pack.

5. Open the Unlit torch mod config file:

To get the firestarter and any other igniter you have to work, you need to add 256 to the item ID given in the config file.  So instead of 16407 its actually 16663.  Don't do that for block IDs though.  The firepit won't work for Igniters-TorchSet because you can't hold a firepit in your hand. Same for the firestarter in Igniters-TorchHeld, because you're already holding the torch.

 

To add TFC items to Igniters-TorchHeld add:

16663 - Firestarter

16962 - TFC Flint and Steel

6.Restart Minecraft

What I think is that the majority of mods will not be compatible with TFC. You better test them out first before asking permissions, etc or you waste your time.

Looks really good. The only one I'm not to sure on is the skills one; is there any benefit to leveling up your skills? In the video, the damage stayed the same regardless of level, and even when using the special attack. The only real mechanic seems to be the ore level requirement, which wouldn't apply to TFC.

I know what he said, but think about it yourself. 

 

How are you going to get vanilla leather?

How can TFC animals be compatible to be ridden?

What vanilla wood is there to build Bibliocraft items?

What NPCs would spawn? TFC has no NPC villages.

Infernal mobs would not work properly because of the new hitpoint system. Hostile mobs have way more hitpoints than vanilla. How can they then be customised based on vanilla versions? And surely this mod would make then hugely deadly that you wont stand a chance with TFC weapons.

Steam age/strongcraft could not possible work properly without vanilla blocks.

How can you trade with said custom npcs if you dont have the vanilla items to trade with in the first place or the ability to make the items? (e.g. vanilla bread does not exist in TFC -> http://www.kodevelopment.nl/minecraft/customnpcs/items). How do custom npcs spawn in the TFC world?

 

The only way to use custom npcs is in creative mode which kind of defeats the purpose of what TFC is trying to achieve. This mod pack is better implemented without TFC in my opinion.

You can sell a vanilla enchanting table for 1 banana if you want to. Use NEI to import the enchanting table and banana then setup the NPC to make the trade. Then anyone who comes along with a banana can buy an enchanting table. The NPC's are spawned in by the server admin who sets up what each NPC will trade, or you can let the players spawn their own if you want to but that might get messy.

You don't have to be in creative mode. And why create a mod pack at all if you are against changing anything in TFC? The point of mods is to add features and items that don't already exist. Some people might like TFC better if they can have backpacks or enchanted items. Why deny them the ability to play it their way? Let Bioxx create it the way he wants it to be and then let everyone else customize it to their own liking. If this mod pack might get a few more people playing TFC then I am all for it.

Pretty certain strongcraft, and the steam age mod were made for TFC......Why not head over to the addon section and have a look, whats there is...

That's true... TFC works best with dedicated add ons. If Healshot is able to successfully host a server with the configured mods (especially custom npcs) I congratulate him. But I'm still somewhat skeptical.

The server I play (tomatonet) on has custom NPCs and Archimedes ships, as well as extrafirma.  The server I used to play on (Carpe Aurum) has carpenter's blocks.  They seem to run without a hitch.

Yeah the Skills mod isn't too great it was a great idea. As far as the rest of the mods, I have them all working perfectly with TFC with no issues.

This mod only effects spawn creatures in the world, so none of the vanilla mobs have to be present for this mod to work.

 

I have tested it with the TFC mobs and it works quite well.

All of the mods are working perfectly  with only one change in the config file. If some one would like to host a sever of the mod pack by all means go ahead.

With the Custom NPC, you spawn the NPCs where you want them you can also have custom mobs drop whatever you desire. Also with that mod you can make custom recipes via ingame GUI anyway you wish

 

And with the mod Animal Bikes it does not use animals to be ridden the way you think. They are separate entities attached to an item you use to spawn and ride them. think of them as spell for a mount in World of Warcraft.

Update: took out Ancient Warfare Mod

 

It made to many error's  when creating structures and for fear of SMP instability, I decided the cons out weighed the pros.

Weapon System / Dual Wielding

Mine and Blade 2 introduces a new weapon system to minecraft. This system will allow the player to have up to 3 weapons sets available to them that can be switched to using the 'R' key. The system allows the player to specify a mainhand and an offhand weapon (so allows select dual wielding).

By default any weapon can be placed into the weapon system and any weapon without a special right click function can be dual wielded. The mod will also scan though items for weapons added by mods. For further mod support there is an API (check the github repository) Posted Image

Shields

Mine and Blade 2 introduces a shielding mechanic different to the normal sword block. Blocking with a shield will reduce all blockable damage taken from the front 120 degree arc. However a player cannot block indefinably as there is a stamina bar that appears above the normal minecraft health/armour icons.
