      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[B77.21] Skip copper age

3 posts in this topic

Seed: -3052798374807277050

Starts in a forested area, nothing particularly noteworthy other than there's a lot of trees.  A short distance to the north there's a river bend near an exposed granite boulder (first anvil).  To the west, there's a small bit of clay near the sea, enough to start out and there's more relatively close.  Across the river, foothills of a mountain range are in visible.  I setup home near the boulder, using the river for farmland.

In the immediate area, I found tin, bismuth and zinc.  Enough so that I skipped copper tools and went straight to bismuth bronze (I actually had less copper than anything else at this point).  A little ways south, I found enough chalk for flux.  A bit down the river past the bend and found a decent copper deposit, so regular bronze became the metal of choice.  The only copper bars used were the ones to make the anvil to make the bronze anvil.

Digging south down from the center of the tin deposit, I hit graphite and eventually came close enough to find a cave system.  From there, found coal and borax.  There might have been more, but those caves weren't particularly memorable for mining.

North, under the mountain found a gigantic cave system which would probably take the better part of a game year (if not more) to fully explore/light/mine.  I found a small kaolinite deposit (just enough for 2 crucibles), iron, cinnabar, more copper, more graphite, gold.  I think there was silver as well, but I haven't found my way back to where that was (I avoid using the f3 gps as it's kinda cheaty imho).

Enough to get to steel all within a relatively short distance from spawn.

Downsides: there's not much for animals nearby and I've only found one fruit tree.  Have not found a huge iron deposit yet, so iron/steel remains semi-precious.  No steel armor yet in other words.

If you don't find domesticatible animals nearby then you can kill deer for leather and farm for food. What were the stones around the mountain?

Could someone give coordinates of something with flux (borax, chalk, dolomite, limestone)?
