      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

9 posts in this topic

So whenever i try to use the anvil to hammer any type of tool, the rules don't show up, even though im using the right stuff, (stone anvil, copper ingot, pickaxe plan, copper heated to orange), so can someone explain why the rules dont show up?

Hello ShadeVahKIin and Welcome to TFC!

Sadly, to make copper tools you need copper anvils. Stone anvils are only good for welding copper double ingots for making the copper anvil.

I advice you to get 14 copper ingots (That would be 56 copper ores, 16 + 16 +16 + 8). Hope I could help you!

If you havent made all of your ore into ingots, I would strongly suggest using the casting method to make your copper/bronze tools instead of trying for an anvil and plans right away.

If you have made all of the ore into ingots, not all is lost. You can make a forge to reheat the copper to liquid temperature with a mold in one of the side slots and then you will be able to cast it.

Just wondering, where did you find this incorrect information that led you to trying to make copper tools on a stone anvil?

So Bronze can be cast into molds and doesn't need to be anvil'd? That's been keeping me from using the rather large stockpile of sphelerite and sticking to pure copper, thinking bronze needed to be worked on a copper anvil.

Copper + Sphalerite = Brass which is not a tool metal. You need Copper + Cassiterite for Bronze.

The Casting Age consists of both Bronzes and Copper.. you won't need to work any tools on an anvil until you get to wrought iron or higher.

And once more I fail at remembering which metal nuggets alloy into Bronze :) At least I did it here instead of in game, I'd be pissed.

What pages on the wiki were you reading? Perhaps they can be re-worded to make some of these things more obvious.
