      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

can't change logs into planks

when I try to craft the logs into planks using a axe, nothing happens. i have looked everywhere but nothing. please help.

Can't do it with an axe anymore .. you have to use a saw.

I would highly advise using or referring to the wiki. I've found many, if not more than half of the lets plays are very out dated.

Welcome to the Forums!

 

As Emris stated, the plank recipe using an axe was removed in 0.77.0

 

And as beingben said, the wiki is your friend. This is the page for the plank item.

 

If you are confused because you think you need planks to make metal tools and therefore can't make a saw without planks but can't make planks without a saw, you should read up on the new pottery mechanics.
