      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

( Fixing Later ) Smithing skill does not affect Bloom

5 posts in this topic

Hotfix #: 78.5

Suggested Name: Bloom Skill

Suggested CategoryAnnoying

Description: When working bloom ( refining, splitting, or turning into ingots ) no smithing skill is used ( remains at 0% )

While I am not sure this is not intended, it does not seem to fit with the skills in general, and may simply have been overlooked, or it may be a true bug.

Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?: Yes

Very likely just an overlooked recipe. I've notified Bioxx and placed it under the minor category in the list since smithing skills don't actually have much effect right now.

Just checked, because working the bloom is a special case, there really isn't an easy way to have it increase the skill level. I've put it in the "won't fix" category of the bug list for now, but Bioxx might revisit it later if the system is ever changed.

Thank you. I can see it increasing General Smithing skill. I wonder what smithing will actually do in the future. Maybe difficult recipes are unlocked, or allowing skilled players to not have to get the arrows aligned exactly.

I generally believe tasks should get harder, not easier as we progress; as we will naturally discover more challenging forms of activity. Actual personal skill increasing with experience is the true denominating factor of easier blacksmithing formation.
