      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

How do you empty an ingot mold?

4 posts in this topic

I cooked up a batch of black bronze in a Ceramic Vessel and miscalculated a bit, ending up with 160 units of metal.  I filled a Clay Mold with 100 units, and then a Chisel Mold with the remaining 60.  I quickly regretted my decision and then tried desperately to figure out some way to pour the bronze out of the ingot-mold and into the Chisel.

Is there any way to recover metal for casting that you accidentally made into an ingot? (Trying to re-melt the ingot in a fireplace caused a game crash, and you can't put a tool mold in the output anyways...)

Are you using 78.8? The firepit crash was fixed in 78.9.

However, in 78.9 there is a different bug: You can't keep an ingot at liquid temperatures in the firepit. The moment it becomes liquid it will move to the output slot and cool a bit, to become solid again.

Bioxx has already fixed this bug, and in 78.10 the firepit will once again be able to keep ingots liquid.

To use the metal from an ingot mold, you can just hold the (Liquid) ingot mold in your hand and right click, this opens up an interface. Put your tool mold into the second slot, and the metal will pour into the tool mold.

You should try to warm it up in a forge instead of a firepit, much easier(provided that you have coal/charcoal...)
