      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Making crops grow faster.

Is there a way to make the crops grow faster if the year length is longer?

Nope. The only way to make sure that crops are growing as fast as possible is to make sure they are planted in warmer climates.

Given the recent revamp to the way food behaves, I'm totally okay with this. Though I'm still sort of starving to death for three (game) days straight on two of my recent startup attempts :)

Can you scale decay based on year length? That would be helpful.

Not directly, no. But there are options in the config to manually edit the rate at which food decays.

Oops, I'm still thinking Bioxx reads every post on the forum ;)

if (nbt.getInteger("decayTimer") < TFC_Time.getTotalHours())..nbt.setInteger("decayTimer", nbt.getInteger("decayTimer") + 1);nbt.setFloat("foodDecay", decay);

edit for clarification: The decay rate is already scaled based on the year length setting in the config file. I was unaware of this until I looked at the github.

TFC_Time.getTotalHours() is how many hours are in a day, and has nothing to do with yearLength afaik

Try roaming. Remaining in one area can diminish your stock of food (not to mention limiting your ore capabilities and finding things like flux and clay) unless you have multiple people, so keeping on the move can allow you to find new sources of food in wild crops and animals.
