the server goes down perhaps 1h each day, you got a life right(or perhaps some homework to be doing?)

and i love this guys style of baning...its his server if he does not want you here he has full right to stop you spoiling the rest of our fun

o and if you got baned and you act civil and propper like an adult, ya never know he might repay the kindless and unban you(unless you brake a rule 1st)

the "STORMS" he blames for server down is so bullshit i live not far from him and have never seen these so called storms ...........

You live in a different province than me..... Also, it summer... you know, storm season. There have been 3 major storms. Those first 3 caused some kind of issue with my ISP, they have been actively trying to fix whatever happened (Or at least that's what they told me).

Thanks Crysyn. This is a thread for talking about stuff that goes on in the server and for me to keep everyone updated on how things are going. In the future if anyone wants to dispute a ban, or even just grumble at me, please just send me a PM.

Its a good server when it was up, I'm looking forward to playing more. I joined yesterday with two friends im teaching the mod to, the 3 of us are tekkit players, but I've played TFcraft back in its 3rd update. and its somewhat funny hearing my friends over teamspeak freaking out ;p, we installed the mods required, and I have the two of them have NEI on recipe mode, and Rei's minimap (getting lost is a pain) Anyway When the server is up your prolly see the 3 of us working hard, or Pajama dieing to various mobs... I'm proud of my farmland i made . steady food, and a small colony being crafted. good view of open land and a various tree farm being produced. Feel free to Tp to us sometime while we are working, Planning on making a castle of sorts on the server since support beams are a must. :3

it seems you need the abilaty to restart the server remotely...perhaps from your ipad at work etc? i asume its just the internet going out...not your pc?

I do not have an ipad or any other mobile device and probably never will. It has nothing to do with the internet OR my pc. Ever since Bioxx added finite liquid peoples char files have been getting corrupted really easy and when they log in the server crashes. The only thing I can do to remedy this is reset the character file. I have mentioned this on the IRC but have not gotten any kind of confirmation yet.

Your character file is the one that crashed the server, I had to delete it. This means that you can now log in again without crashing the server but everything in your inventory will be gone and you will be at spawn. For this I am sorry but it's the only fix right now.

Okay, I've talked to Bioxx about the crashes and we've come to the conclusion that they are due to user error. Next time an updates comes out make sure to do a CLEAN INSTALL! This means that you need to delete your entire bin folder and config folder at the very least. For now I will simply continue to reset character files when someone causes a crash. After the next update I will start banning people if they cause the server to crash. I want it understood that this is not meant to be a punishment or some kind of vengeful action on my part. It is to protect the server from crashes. We have a lot of regular players on the server that are everything I could ask for in a community and I don't want to scare them away because of crashes that are most likely the cause of other people who don't know how to, or cannot be bothered to do a proper update.

EDIT: It has come to my attention that there has been some theft happening on the server. I have been told by about 5 different people so far that they have had things stolen. I also have had some things stolen more recently. So I have decided to create a poll on whether we should switch to a white-list system. If it is decided that we use a white-list then all of the players that I feel have proven that they are trustworthy will be automatically added to the white-list. Everyone else will have to make an application.
