      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

"Chiseled" Logs

5 posts in this topic

When you place a log, you get a square "trunk" which takes an act of Congress to relocate. Add a "chiseling" mode to axes and/or saws to convert these blocks into rounded logs. Once chiseled, allow them to be quickly "chopped" back into inventory, greatly increasing desire to use logs as a building material.

Alternate chiseled log section depicting 4 stacked logs, either as a second chisel action or a separate chisel mode. You could ad a slab function to the axe/saw to remove columns/rows, or individual logs for a stairstep effect, or single log border as an aesthetic delineator.

I like this idea a lot, but what's to prevent people from just going out and turning all naturally generates trees into 'logs' to get them faster?

That had crossed my mind. Perhaps removing a chiseled log from a tree will not propagate. This would leave you with a floating section of tree, but such things exist in TFC. You could also look at prohibitive durability hits.
