all about Cheese (just cheese, nothing but cheese)

I've read some post on food but not one focus on just cheese. Right now we have one type of cheese and food decay. We all know some cheeses have mold in it.  Gross I know, but we love it.

 

Brie is produced from the whole or semi-skimmed cow's milk.  Which we have in the game.

 

Rennet is added in to raw milk and heated to a temperature of 37°C to obtain the curd. 

• We would need to get Rennet to drop when killing a cow, pig, or sheep. Rennet is a complex of enzymes produced in any mammalian stomach.
• We can add the Rennet and milk in a bucket and heat in in a firepit

The cheese is then cast into molds, several layers of cheese are filled into mold and then kept for around 18 hours.  We have mold in the game, why not cheese molds.

 

After this the cheese is salted and aged for minimum four weeks. We have salt and we can dig a hole to age the cheese by filling it will hay and logs.

Brie, Cheddar, American,Manchego,Provolone, Babybel, Gouda, Camembert, Asiago, Parmesan, Havarti, Mascarpone, Stilton, Cotija, Gorgonzola, Feta, Monterey Jack, Roquefort, Munster, Blue Cheese, Pepper Jack, Limburger, Mozzarella

And what will it add other than hassle in already limited food type?

 

But that got me thinking : Tofu. Made from soybeans. It combines low decay of cheese with protein type. The process could be as simple as putting soybeans into barrel of water and sealing it and as complex as necessary.

Tweaks and bug fixes are great, but if no items, block, machine or ways to make food are not added we might lose people after a few weeks.

I like the tofu idea!

tofu? what tofu? this is cheese, not tofu, tofu is made from beans.

 

Anyways this will be a good way to store dairy, and better then just 'dump milk in vinegar and wait'.

Tofu-making is actually quite a complicated process. I'd wait for the Chemistry update (which IS coming, damn what the devs say, they'll give in eventually) for that to be implemented.

I just realized, tofu uses soy milk, so people might think that it uses milk, but soy milk uses no milk whatsoever, it's basically water and soy beans.

 

Anyways cheese is complicated to make too, but sometimes, we must sacrifice realism for gameplay and beliveability.

This sounds like a fun idea for an add-on, but not so much for the main game. too detailed and complex, with too little purpose. none the less, if someone made an add-on of this, I would use it! xD

I would agree with drying cheese on shelves in a cool temperature.
