      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Info about smelting alloys in vessels

5 posts in this topic

Hello. I've been looking around on wiki for a while now and i couldn't find any useful info about how to smelt metals in ceramic vessels.

I noticed that every metal piece i collect has units. I assume that the bigger the piece the more units of metal it will have.

I know that i have to put in the right ratios of metals but here is what i don't know and i couldn't find anywhere:

1.How many units of metal do i have to smelt to get 1 ingot/tool head? What i've deduced from wiki is that 100 units of metal is one ingot. Is that correct?

2.What is the maximal vessel capacity? I mean how many units of metal can it contain?

There are 4 different amounts of units a single ore piece can have. On the surface, you can find nuggets (10 units) and if you go mining underground, (or get lucky with some surface exposed ore) you can get poor, normal or rich ore at 15, 25, and 35 units each.

1. Yes, 100 units is one tool head or ingot when casting.

2. You can have as many units of metal in a vessel as the vessel can hold. This means the max is 4 stacks of rich ore, or 64 rich ore. 64 * 35 = 2240 units. You can get 22 ingots with some leftovers max from one vessel, granted you use all rich ore.

EDIT: My bad...units, not ingots.
