      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

12 posts in this topic

Hi,

how to make the bigger chaarcoal pit with maximum size of 25x25x13 ?

A soluce for me is by bottom side, but it is not possible to place the lastest block of wood without support !

Place 12 blocks of wood in 20 sec ... xD

You can remove blocks out from underneath log piles and they will still float there. So fill up your entire 25x25x13 cube, then dig out from underneath the bottom center to put your firepit in and close it off.

Problem, is where "i am" i can't place log pile ...

I dig next to center. I place the fire pit on a solide bloc. After it is a hole "for me"

Trap door is same door ?

Is not "the" soluce, but i can't place log pile on it.

It is for the top of building, for the lastest log pile.

Sorry but French, if your soluce is good.

Put the fire pit where the red wool block is. Place a plank block where my head is to close up the pit.

What like to do, is a squade building 2 blocks high, 3 wide and about 5~6 long. Fill it all with logs and place a campfire in the square next to the door.

Hi,

It work !

I have tested with a little house, now i must build the big !

Strange, but if i place the pit fire before and wait it is off, when i build the structure it can start without fire starter.

Now, i remove the log pile on top and wheen is ready i place the log pile, place the wood plant and it start.

But if I place the plank block as you are suggesting, it will not be honest 25x25x13 pit? One log block will me missing, replaced with a plank block. Right?

My charcoal house still my option for this. Just need a chisel and a hammer to make the smooth stone. Then I can make a building in the size and shape that i like, fill with logs, place a campire in the square next to the door, and close. xD

You can never have an honest 25x25x13 pit, because the firepit in the middle replaces one of the log blocks too.

Yes, that's true. But the firepit is an indispensable part of the charcoal pit. So I guess it's always assumed that the firepit block is part of charcoal pit. But is it really possible to fill all remaining space of 25x25x13 cuboid with logs? Probably a high-trained team can do it :) Or a very fast individual :)I didn't come to your way to do it by myself, and for now and for me it's the best way to get maximum amount of coal at one burn, thank you for the great demonstration.I also will never try to create such a pit, after I have heard what it had cost to one person to make :) I'll be amazed forever :)And I'm not asking how to do it, I would prefer to find this know-how by myself. Just "Yes" or "No", based on personal experience would be great :)

I myself have never done it, but I know that at one point there was a server who managed to do it because they posted a picture of it... and reported that all of the block updates crashed the server.

Charcoal pits are changed in 79 anyways, you light them with a torch instead of a firepit.

Hey, it's nearly a poem u got there (there was a server who managed to do it)!

There once was a server in lack of charcoal.
The pit they had built was as big as their goal.
They managed to do it.
Worked faster than bullet.
But were sadly crashed by the block update shoal.

:)))

Thanks for the info! The person who achieved the charcoal pit I know about told me there was strangely no lag at all during the final stage. So I guess it depends on the server.
