      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

old alpha halloween update

I have to say once I read the news about the upcoming update it really has taken me back to the alpha four years ago. Back when we where promised that torches would burn out and we would have to make lanterns to keep out the dark. Good Times.

 

So what do you guys think we will be able to make to light our city now other then lanterns as they may/maynot ever see the light of day?

Personally I'm hoping for a brazier that we can fill with coal to let it burn for longer periods.

That said, old mines are a lot more dangerous now. Hopefully still bearable.

Yeah I was kind of disappointed that they didn't add lanterns and limited torches

If not added in 79, the extrafirma mod will be a stop gap fix as it has difficult to make lanterns in it already.

Oh man, this topic really takes me back too. I was pretty excited about that update and disappointed that Notch abandoned the idea. I wouldn't necessarily be a fan of permanent lighting in TFC - since we have mob protection - if we could have lanterns or braziers that we could craft and place, then refill and light after they go out - sort of like fire p-- wait! Can't we make braziers out of fire pits now? I never thought of that. Though they do burn out way too quickly. Maybe if they turned to embers when the fire goes out or something.

 

Well, that got off topic. Anyway, thanks for the nostalgia!
