[Solved][0.79.3] Fruit Tree Growth

Description: I have yet to find any naturally spawning fruit trees in any of the worlds ive generated, not sure it its broken or im just incredibly unlucky. Grabbed some saplings from creative, then jumped back into survival mode. Was not able to place sapling on Grass, would place on Dirt, Gravel, and Sand however. Breaking the stump with an axe would cause the item to be lost (same functionality as in 0.78), however, when trying to break with my hand (no tool equiped) after the breaking animation was finished, the sapling stump reappeared and instantly grew (8 leaf blocks around base, with one on top).

Fruit trees spawn just fine. I've got a handful of them in my test world that I just created. We know about the planting on grass issue, and its fixed for the next version.

 

I just reproduced the regrowth bug, so I'll add it to the list and it should hopefully be fixed soon.

I thought it was intended. It works when you tilt the grass with a hoe before to plant them, (like a seed). haha

Nah, at some point during the 1.7 port grass accidentally got changed from dirt/soil material to stone material... and you can't plant fruit trees on a hunk of rock. This has already been fixed in 79.4
