      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Zombies + water = spinny zombies?

This has bugged me for a while, but I can't seem to find any info about other's having the problem so wondered if it was related to TFC somehow?

 

Basically zombies enter water, within 1-2 squares from the shore they just start going in circles, like spinning a 360 turn once per second.

All zombies always do it, in both 78 and 79 although I really think it's got much worse now.

They are basically no threat if I just go into any water a few squares.

I do not have this issue in my game. Although pathing is sometimes a bit weird because of the (presumably) low updates, but so far they never stopped following unless I got out of range.

Do you have any other mods installed?

I've noticed this happen in Etho's videos back in build 78, as well as in vanilla MC game experience. I don't believe this is TFC specific, although I could be wrong on that.

I have this issue as well.  I haven't tried it with vanilla yet but I'll do that later today to confirm.

I only have the main mods.

I wonder if Optifine has something to do with it, that's the only mod I have now that I also have in 78.

nah it's the zombie ai that causes them to spin around when they chase you into water. it's happened to me quite a few times also

Hm it's not just zombies actually, it's ALL mobs.

Including skeletons, creepers and even pigs.

Holding Wheat pigs wont follow me across water, 2 blocks out they just start going in circles like the other mobs.
