      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[Solved][0.79.4] Charcoal Pit Cave In

5 posts in this topic

Version #: 0.79.4

SSP/SMP (Single/MultiPlayer): SMP

Suggested Name: Charcoal Pit Cave In

Suggested Category: Severe

Description: I believe this would be considered severe, as you now have to light charcoal pits from the top (and doors are flammable so no more permanent charcoal rooms). When building a pit (or pile of charcoal) you must cover it for it to work, however, when the pit is completed if the cover material (i.e. dirt) has physics it will fall on the newly created charcoal and breaks the block into "tile.Charcoal.name" ive noticed 1 per wood pile. I have noticed other bugs regarding blocks hitting (non-solid) blocks causing issues, so I am assuming this might be related. (I didnt see any specifics if the non-solid issue so created this topic just in case)

Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?: Yes

Do you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed?: Yes
If yes, which modsFastCraft

Edit: Originally discovered by user "Two", reproduced bug and reported.

I'll add this to the official list. Thanks for the report.

@Kittychanley: I reported the exact same issue and you just closed it (and obviously did not add it to the list) because it did not follow the rule for posting bugs. I get that part, but if you throw away valid bug reports because the report doesn't match the form, you are going to loose a lot of valid input.

We get a lot of bug reports to deal with, and other than the occasional time when Bioxx or Dunk takes a peek at the forums, I'm essentially the only person relaying these bugs to the dev team. I also have a life outside of TFC including family and school, which takes higher priority because I do not get paid to do any of the work I do for TFC.

Because of this, I am short on time when it comes to handling bugs. I literally do not have the time nor patience to go through every single rule-breaking post and figure out all of the specifics that should be included when you use the template. Those questions matter, because in 99% of cases, they do make a difference in how the bug is tested, and eventually fixed.

I also cannot be arsed to remember that a specific user only ever plays single player, because I'm dealing with so many users every single day, and I'm not a robot with perfect memory.

@Two: I was going to reply very similarly to Kitty, I know they are extremely busy and am honestly shocked at how responsive they are dealing with bugs. When I saw that your original post was blocked because it did not match the form, I wanted to make sure it was seen, so reproduced the bug and reported. I forgot to mention you in the original post, but have since edited it. I love this game (mod), and want to see it in all its glory, so I have been reading every post and helping out where I can. Again im sorry I forgot to mention you in the original post.

Now on to the next post ;)
