      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[Solved][0.79.5] Saplings do not grow

6 posts in this topic

Version : 0.79.5

SSP/SMP (Single/MultiPlayer): SSP

Suggested Name: Saplings do not grow

Suggested Category: Annoying

Description:

The area where I have my base has no trees at all, so I planted 30-35 saplings (white cedar mostly, a few spruce and a few maple) in early july.

I am now in september and none of them have grown. There is a lots of wild white cedar saplings around but they didn't grew either.

Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?: Yes

Do you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed?: Yes

If yes, which mods?

  • NEI
  • NEI plugin for TFC
  • FastCraft
  • DamageIndicator
  • InventoryTweaks
  • Opis with MapWriter
  • Waila
  • SmartMoving

If you have Optifine or Cauldron installed, can you still reproduce the bug after uninstalling them?
Sorry but I can't run moded minecraft 1.7.10 without optifine, it freezes every 10s because of the new forge's async chunk loading

I'll add this to the list after I look into it a bit more to confirm. Please keep in mind that after the correct amount of time has passed, saplings require a light level of at least 9, and then the tree growing is entirely up to random tick, in the same way that vanilla trees grow.

I'm now in late autumn and still no trees. They are planted in grass with full access to the sky so I don't think it's the light level.

I had a quick look in the source code on github and the content of the method growTree in BlockSapling is commented I don't know if you handle the growth by any other way but could that be the issue ?
