[Solved] B79 Beds and sleeping

When using a bed and sleeping does it only progress the time of day, or do all processes account for the time of sleep?

Not sure to understand your question. but, you can only sleep at night first.

Secondly, straw beds only set your spawn point to that location while ordinary beds set both a new spawn point and skip the night until morning.

I believe his question is about things that are counting down. e.g. A charcoal pit is lit when you go to sleep, does it keep burning all night? That's what it looks like to me.

All processes account for the time that has passed while you were asleep. So your hunger and thirst will drain, your health will refill, stuff that takes time to complete such as charcoal pits and pit kilns will account for the extra time passed, etc.

 

If you've ever used the mod Somnia, it's basically the same end result.

 

@landryx Straw beds were never broken. You just had to place your thatch on a log or stone floor, instead of on a grass one. The no placing grass/dirt rule has been lifted in 79.4 though.
