      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[Solved] Crops, Fruit Trees and Bushes don't spawn on southern hemisphere.

6 posts in this topic

Version #: [1.7.10]TerraFirmaCraft-0.79.6.245

SSP/SMP (Single/MultiPlayer): SSP/SMP

Suggested Name: Crops, Fruit Trees and Bushes don't spawn on southern hemisphere.

Suggested Category: Severe Annoying

Description:

Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?: Yes
*If you answered no to the above question, delete your config files and try to reproduce the bug. This question is here because many bugs are caused by mistakes in config files. All bug reports should have an answer of "Yes" to this question.

Do you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed?: No

If you have Optifine or Cauldron installed, can you still reproduce the bug after uninstalling them? Yes
*Both Optifine and Cauldron edit the base classes of forge that TFC uses. Because of this, we cannot officially support any issues that happen only when these mods are installed.

I have been trying to find any crops on the souther hemisphere of seed: 2361318630950344548 and not succeeded.
There is a vast stretch of plains on +1105 +162 +3048. (Three thousand blocks in some directions, I would assume this to be enough for at least one crop to spawn.)
I have teleported over in ~1K increments over 20km and flown 26km since I was testing only the 79.6 version! This issue also occurred in the 79.4 (I did not try any others)

I flew around my seed, adjusting time several times to cover 5 years in-game, and traveled over 200km. I did not find any either.

Not sure if they are spawned from grass-gen or not, didnt think of that until after I tested :(

Solved the issue with the trees spawning for 79.7.

The reason you weren't seeing any crops is because the seasons are reversed in the southern hemisphere. Wild crops only generate between the seasons of Spring and Late Summer, and if you started exploring right away, it was probably still June, which is the middle of winter in the southern hemisphere.

Edit: Here's a screenshot using the world seed that you provided, showing wild crops in the southern hemisphere in the month of February, which is late summer:

Ok that is just cool! I was doing lots of /time add, then saw in another topic that that does not actually process the ticks properly and wont cause things to grow. But never noticed that the seasons were reversed in the southern hemisphere, great feature though!

Sadly this awesome idea can only be true if you can rename yourself to be called dinnerbone.
