      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Unshaped tin does not want to form up!

6 posts in this topic

I heat it til its hot++, but I cant work with it!

When I cheat an unshaped, it works, I can try to make an ingot out of it.

But for some reason when I make an unshaped from cass. it just doesn't work.

Something I have noticed is a durability bar on the unshaped I produce (the cheated ones does not have one =/ ), I thought first "maybe they need to cool off" but the bar hasnt moving.

So how do you do it?

I've watched on youtube but noone there seem to have this problem, suggestions?

Hey SierraKhaar you said that you noticed a durability bar on the unshaped tin? that's because your ore didn't make a full ingot! Since pre 19 or 20 (maybe earlier?) the low tier ores - tin, zinc and bismuth - don't give 50% of an ingot anymore per ore, it can take 3+ ores to make one ingot.

How do you fill the bar you ask? Just leave the melted bar in the campfire or bloomery and smelt more ore and it will add itself to the bar filling up the bar. When the durability bar is full and disappears you have a full ingot!

Then you can shape it :D

Happy Hunting :)

Also when you're looking at the wiki, the Working Heat Level is the minimum heat required to work the metal. You want to heat it PAST that level in order to have a comfortable amount of time to shape the metal. I've updated the metals page in the wiki to hopefully be a little more easily understandable.

Yeah everything works now, I'm fighting in the metal age now (trying to get out of its first tier) :)

In addition to this, if you use a firepit, place an empty mold near the mold with the metal, so when you smelt the ore, all the extra metal goes in the empty mold. That way you don't lose metal.
